Downinside was formed in 1994, initially as a cover band... by guitarist Scott and drummer Skip. Since then, they've gone through various member and style changes, but have continuously maintained the trait that got their name out there in the first place... ENERGY. They are fun, furious, hyper, goofy, angry, etc.... a rollercoaster of intensity live.

Downinside has opened for bands in the past such as Pro-Pain (a mini-tour around the state of Florida), STUCK MOJO, Gwar, Brutal Juice, Overkill, plus others. They have released many different demo tapes and finally, a debut full-length CD in April of 1999. They have had multiple record label interest over the last year, and are steadily recording, playing some gigs here and there, and doing radio interviews.

They have been on the world wide web since mid 1996, and have made their presence known throughout it, by always keeping close touch with bands and their fans around the world. The one thing Downinside appreciates most is their fanbase... without them, the band is nothing.

If you like the sounds of bands such as Stuck Mojo, Incubus, 311, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Helmet, Deftones, Phunk Junkeez, and Beastie Boys, you will definitely dig Downinside. They are influenced by all sorts of bands, but they still maintain their own sound, which they describe as "funkalicious hardcore".

Soon, Downinside will be touring the eastern United States (after their CD release).... DON'T MISS THEM when they come to or near your town... if you haven't heard of them yet, you definitely will be hearing about them in the future.
