What The Others Say

Everyone knows just about every wierd or interesting thing *N Sync has had to say. [Just in case you might have missed some, check them out in the Quotes/Facts section of my site.] But what do other famous people think of *N Sync and their music?! Here's a few quotes I've found from other noted celebrities and their thoughts on *N Sync. If you know of some accurate quotes, send them in and you'll get full credit.

"Of all of them, I just -- maybe because I know them, but I think 'N Sync has -- can maybe transcend that whole boy band thing, you know, because they got a good attitude and a good spirit, and they're talented guys."
-- Joey McIntyre, former member of New Kids On the Block, on CNN interview regarding short staying power of boybands.

"But the Ohio-born foursome's popularity extends well beyond their primarily young, female fan base to include their contemporaries -- and even the competition. As the clean-cut quartet strolls into the Shrine, fellow popsters 'N Sync -- rehearsing their own part for the AMAs -- suddenly break into the chorus of "Because Of You." Says Jeff, 98°'s founding member, 'We've been friends since we went on tour with them in England about a year and a half ago. They're down-to-earth, very talented guys.' Just the night before, three members from 98° stopped in for a backstage visit after 'N Sync's performance at L.A.'s Universal Amphitheatre. 'We were all in there, just chillin',' recalls 'N Sync's JC Chasez. 'The fact of the matter is, we can be friends. You know, we're above that kind of simplemindedness.'
-- from 98° interview in Teen People magazine (April 1999)

"'N Sync's stage presentation...is half pure entertainment and half huh?...it whipped the crowd into a frenzy, and it was darn classy...it makes a weird kind of sense. We're pleasantly surprised..."
-- Kim Stitzel

"Will Friedle, Matt Lawrence, and I spent two hours rehearsing an 'N Sync dance. Then we had the guts to perform it in front of the show's audience. They all laughed at us!"
--Ben Savage, regarding the funniest thing that has happened on Boy Meets World

"I get different kinds of letters and some of them do say, 'Stay away from my man Justin!' and I'm like no problem! We're really just friends."
-- Britney Spears on fan mail.

"... both Backstreet and Britney Spears may be popular now, but 'N Sync's got the talent...that Backstreet's on the decline...that their 'expiration date' is nearing."
-- a fan on MTV's Total Request Live

"Feeling hosed, the band began to falter a bit in performance, while the competition in the pop market heated up. The Boys' five jaws dropped when, in a surreal turn of events, they discovered that 'N Sync, their main competition (at 6 million records and counting), were managed by none other than . . . Lou Pearlman. 'That hurt our feelings,' says Richardson. 'Because for a while it was like, 'We're a family.' Then all of a sudden, 'It's business, guys, sorry.' We have nothing against . . . that group, personally. It was [Pearlman's] not being honest.'
-- Kevin Richardson of the Backstreet Boys regarding rapid success of former lable mates, *N Sync

"'N Sync are happening in a major way, and even a non-teen male can see why—they can sing, they can dance, they're cute, and they have an almost archetypally accessible boy-next-door quality. Indeed, spending time with this fab five is like taking a sampling of young Caucasian male America after all the ugly, f---ed-up ones have been helpfully filtered out for your protection."
-- Rolling Stone magazine
