COLLECTIVE SOUL WEBRING

Welcome to the Collective Soul Webring's homepage. What is a webring, you may be asking? Well, it's an easy way for people to navigate from your site to other sites with related content. When you join the ring, you will add an HTML code to your page that will look like this:

23/07/01: NEWS FLASH!
The Collective Soul Webring has moved to Ringsurf.

Why, you might ask? It's simple. Yahoo took over Webring and messed it up. And Ringsurf offers many of the same options that Webring used to offer, before being messed up. It doesn't require the use of those ugly javascript navbars, either. So we're moving.

If you're already a member of the ring, you should have received an e-mail with instructions. If not, please e-mail me ASAP.

As ringmistress, I've tried to maintain a high level of quality among the ring's sites. I'm the only one who can add a site, and only Collective Soul pages qualify.
I've been getting a lot of submissions to the ring lately that do not meet content guidelines. So before submitting your page to the ring, ask yourself these questions:

1. Is my page about Collective Soul?
Fan pages with info or original content qualify. But I emphasize a LOT of Collective Soul content. Simply mentioning them as your favourite band or providing a link to someone else's page doesn't count. In some cases pages dedicated to Collective Soul midi files or guitar tabs can qualify, but only if there's an emphasis on Collective Soul. Please submit your site only if you think it meets this standard.

2. Is my page up yet?
If you have a personal homepage and are working on a Collective Soul page, that's great. But please wait until your Collective Soul page is up to submit it. Also, it's important that if your main page and your Collective Soul page are not at the same place that you submit your Collective Soul page to the webring.

3. Am I willing to add the HTML code for the ring promptly to my main page?
Upon submitting your page you will receive, by e-mail, a copy of the HTML code you need to put on your page. You need to copy and paste the code into your main Collective Soul page as soon as possible. It is important that the ring code be placed on the URL submitted exactly. Sorry, but you can't paste it into a links or webrings section because then people can't find it easily and the ring will be broken.

4. Do I agree to immediately notify the ringmaster upon removal or moving of my site?
If you move or remove your site and fail to mention it, the ring will be broken and other sites will lose hits. So please remember!

5. Is my site clean and legal?
Any site with illegal or pornographic content will be rejected.
