Day(s) I Met God

Days I Met God

by Diane Ham

Well, I went to see Funeral Games three times, the first time I was in to much shock to say much to Adam, we waited outside for him before hand, me and my mate Paul , Paul stopped him and asked him something i can't remember what , then i came outta shock slightly and asked him if Paul could take a photo of us both , he said yes (the one on Nancy's page) , i thanked him after and he thanked me for asking , which i though was sweet . My trouble is i'm too shy ! The second time i went with my best friend , 4 days later , who was jealous and wished that she had gone , so what's a girl to do ? Go again !! This time it was me who stopped him (we got their much earlier than i did with Paul , and expected a long wait , but he was earlier , phew) , i asked him to sign my programme , he did and the photo of him and me that Paul took . He remembered me which was really nice . As he walked off my mate called to him 'will you be in the bar later ?' , he stopped and asked why , so she said 'I'll buy you a drink' , he just smiled and walked off grinning to himself ! Then i went a couple of weeks later with Nancy , having managed to convince her to come all the way from Canada to see it ! We were waiting outside the theatre with this bloke Andy , i had met before at the convention in '95 , who won Adam's jacket in a comp. , when Adam pulled up , he spotted us , he had a huge smile on his face , he was toying with us , he just sat there for a while , then he got out to put his money in the parking meter , couldn't have done it any slower if he'd tried , even letting someone go before him , even though he was there first , put it in his car , locked it , doubled checked he'd locked it , then walked slowly across the road , as soon as he hit the pavement Nancy threw her arms around him , kissed him on the neck and told him he smelt wonderful ! She got a laugh out of him by suggesting that he put an accoustic version of 'Rubber People' on the next album . He didn't say much . I took the photo of Nancy and Adam .

Unfortunately , in the bar afterwards , we were sitting right next to him , he was standing behind us , why unfortunately ? , well , he was talking to a friend and we heard him say that he was just looking for his friends and then he was going , as he couldn't cope with all the women that had been crowding him after every preformance (after , not meeting him before like us) , from what we gathered , the same few had been every night and crowding him every time , but he was too late , they spotted him , he was polite , but you could see he had had enough , one was in tears , going 'oh , you mean so much to me' and going on and on and on , he tried to leave , but they just followed him , so we decided to go , we said goodbye on our way passed him , he said goodbye back , we felt rather sorry for him .

As for the play , it was okay , i mean , he wasn't bad , the second time i saw him was the best i saw , which was pretty good , he didn't forget his lines or anything , as for any bad reviews you may have read , ignore them , as usual they were just getting at him . And him singing Calander Girl was to die for , he really went for it , like he was doing a gig , it was so cool and now everytime i see a police man i see them wearing pink satin skirts over their uniforms !!
