Welcome to the Oh L'amour for Erasure page. This page is dedicated to the duo british pop band ERASURE, formed by the vocalist Andy Bell and the keyboard/synthesizer player Vince Clarke. Erasure borned in the 80's, and was and still is, a very unique, creative band with billions of fans.

But why a Erasure page?, may some one ask.... Well, first it has been a band I have enjoyed listening to since my 9 years old (around 1988) when I first heard the song "Oh L'amour" on a radio station. It is true that the principle of taste is very applied to Erasure; you either like the band or you don't. But although there are many people who "hates the band" and a few who are in midterms, there's allot of people out there who are very fanatic to the boys. Erasure is to me, a extremely creative band, who knows how to explore their potentials. The band is not even a bit commercialized, and it can be safely said that their fans have been conquered by their song's rather them by the promotional marketing. Erasure's songs are all very much uplifting even when dealing with sad subjects, and can't seem to get enough of even after listening to them over and over. And probably the thing that most amazes me, is that album after album, it's all a very pleasant surprise, because they don't follow any formulas for creating their songs, and each new project reveals a new side of Andy/Vince's talents. To me, their best albums are Chorus, I Say I Say I Say, the self titled album Erasure and Loveboat.

The latest news about Erasure is that Mute Records released a new compilation album on October 20th on UK and on Novenber 4th on the US, with Erasure's greates hits, called Hits! - THE VERY BEST OF ERASURE .  There was also released an british and american Limited Edition of the Cd, Hits! - Limited Edition, with a bonus Cd featuring a Megamix of the tracks on the CD. Besides the new CD, Mute released a DVD also, called  Hits! - THE VIDEOS, containing all of Erasure's video clips up to date and it will come along with an extra disk containing more than 2h of extras. The new album was preceded by a new single Oh L'amour- The New Single , released on October 13th on UK and on November 11th on the US,  on 2 Cds and a DVD-audio featuring 2 new songs and new remixes.

Erasure's latest album, called OTHER PEOPLE'S SONGS, was released on January 27th of 2003. The second single from the album is a cover of the Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel classic called MAKE ME SMILE (COME UP AND SEE ME) , and was released on April 7th of 2003, and like the previous single, it was only sold for a week in the UK record stores, so to encorage it to reach the top 10 chart. Other Peoples Song's is a wonderful collection of cover songs from Erasure's favorite artists, and was co-produced by Gareth Jones, who has worked with the band on the albums WILD, ERASURE and COWBOY. The album took a long time to be completed, but like all of Erasure's material, it's a brilliant and wonderful piece of work. The first single of the album, SOLSBURY HILL, was released on January 6th of 2003, which is a cover of Peter Gabriel's song. The single was a mark in the sales strategy, since it was realeased world wide and taken of circulation a week after, so to encorage as many fans as possible to buy the single and make it reach the top of the UK charts. The result was that the single reached the 10th place on the UK charts. The new album is very nice and worth of being bought.
