Hartnell Panthers (Distance) Running News:

At last Saturday's Coast Conference Championships at West Valley College in Saratoga (extremely hot weather!!!), Steve ran a PR 3:59.34 in the 1500m for third place. Moreno won the 5000m in 15:52. With three laps to go he stepped on the rail and turned his ankle while in the lead. Two runners passed him, but he regained the lead with 500m to go and went on for the win. Josh Small ran a 16:09, Miguel Nuci 16:20, (who was second in Thursday's 10K in 34:02) and Tomas Garcia (in only his 5th race in a year and a half) 16:21. Dave Serafini busted a phat 14 second PR and ran a 10:06 in the 3K steeplechase for third place! Dave Beals, the meets high-point man with 21 points (he was also 3rd in the vault, 3rd in the high jump, and fourth in the TJ!), was fourth in 10:12. Moreno won the NorCal 10K with a time of 31:51.0 in windy conditions. Nuci placed 10th (33:35) and Small 12th (33:45). NorCal Finals are this Saturday at Delta College in Stockton.
