Since forming in 1981, the Stompers have played a mixture of Chicago and New Orleans style traditional jazz reminiscent of Bix Beiderbecke, Jelly Roll Morton, and King Oliver.

The Stompers have performed at the Bix Beiderbecke Festival in Davenport IA, Great River Jazz Society of Hannibal, St. Louis Jazz Club, Gateway Jazz Festival, Great American Music Festival in Silver Dollar City, National Ragtime Festival on The Goldenrod Showboat, the Dixiefest at Clear Lake IA, and countless parties and concerts across the midwest.

Some quotes from happy listeners: "Red hot and razor sharp" "Wow, these guys are great"  "Good piano"  "Great horn man"  "Where does the drummer get so much energy" - and from the Dixiefest flyer: "This will be the second appearance for this group in Clear Lake, having first performed here in 2002. This powerful group performs early arrangements in the exact style of the original bands. They are excellent musicians, both as soloists and as an ensemble. They were a great hit at last year's festival, and we welcome them back."
