Joining GeoCities/SouthBeach
How do I get to be a member of GeoCities and receive eleven megabytes of free web space? How do I join the SouthBeach neighborhood of GeoCities? These and similar questions will be answered in this tutorial.
It would really benefit you to go through the SouthBeach Tutor's site introduction first before proceeding with the rest of the tutorial. If you have done so, please continue. Do note that the introduction will appear in another browser window.
So you might ask what you can get from being a free member of GeoCities? Well, you get eleven megabytes of web space, a GeoCities e-mail address, access to GeoCities forums and chat rooms as well as free use of cool utilities like counters and guestbooks to enhance your web site. Not to mention, you get to participate in GeoCities programs and get to meet new people with similar interests as you.
When you decide to join GeoCities, you'll be asked to choose the neighborhood you would like to belong. You see, in GeoCities, web sites that share the same themes are grouped together into neighborhoods. So if you would like to meet people with the same interests as you, you must choose the right neighborhood. Web sites or homesteads in the SouthBeach neighborhood can have one of the following topics:
- chatting
- dating
- high fashion
- making friends
- meeting guys, girls and others
- models
- nightlife
- personal ads
- seeing and being seen
- the "Hi, my name is x" page
If you feel that SouthBeach is not the neighborhood for you, feel free to choose another GeoCities neighborhood. On the other hand, if you think that SouthBeach is just right for you, please proceed with the rest of the tutorial.
PROCEDURES
1. Go to the SouthBeach neighborhood main page at http://www.oocities.org/SouthBeach . Once there, you'll see something similar to the screen shot below.
2. Click on the "Join this neighborhood today! It's Free" link at the said page.
Click on the "next" button to proceed with the rest of the tutorial.
