MTFD Memorial Page

Each year, many men and women join a local Fire Department. Each one of those people has a thought, a certain thought of bravery, of heroism. Each is ready to do battle with a force more powerful then themselves, a force called Fire. Fire can be simple and small or it could be complex and devastating. But none of those who joined the Fire Department are afraid. They hold on to that one certain thought of courage. They let nothing stand in their way of putting a fire out.

When the alarm sounds, FireFighters quickly make their way to their Fire Station. They hop on a fire truck and go off to do battle, they go to fight the fire. But sometimes, a FireFighter may not return from the fight. It's not because they went home or to get something to eat, it's because the fire claimed their life. As sad as it sounds, this is a tragic reality. Each year, both men and women join a local Fire Department, each year both men and women die trying to their duty for that Fire Department.

This page was created to pay tribute to those who have lost their lives in the line of duty. They did battle because of that one certain thought. They faced that force called Fire, and they faced an even greater force - death. Let's keep their memory alive within our hearts.
