Letter (A Simple Idea)

A "Food for the Spirit" Project

At first this might sound like a very easy thing to do, but once you begin you will see that it will take a bit more thought than your everyday letter. I propose that you write a letter to whomever you hold sacred, God, His Prophet, or another holy being (for Bahá'ís I suggest writing to 'Abdu'l-Bahá as this was sometimes the practice earlier in this century.)

Decide what you wish to ask, say, and/or be thankful for and write it on beautiful paper in your best hand. Place the letter in an envelope, seal it, and put it someplace secure. Or, you may decide to cover the letter with a collage of images, colors, and words, never to be read again. Here is one example of a Letter to Abdu'l-Bahá that I did in 1995.

Know that whatever you write, whatever you say to God, or His Messenger, is between only you two and that the message you have written has already been received.
