Quieting the Mind

Additional Help for Quieting the Mind
By Ronald Tomanio

This initial step [from Increasing Inner Vision] can be very difficult. Usually when you need a fresh dose of intuitive wisdom from the faculty of inner vision, you have arrived at an impasse in the reasoning process. This dead end typically results in your mind swimming in a stream of frustration, self pity, anger, even feelings and thoughts you are stupid and inadequate to handle life's challenges. Picture trying to pick up a coffee table with one arm tied behind your back. Are you stupid, weak, or inadequate? or, do you simply need to untie your other arm?

The key to getting rid of negative emotions is the attribute of courage. Pressed hard enough, we must admit that statements like "so and so hurt my feelings" or "he or she made me angry," are illusionary. You have made a free will choice to feel that way and nothing will ever change until you face reality and start rejecting these feelings called up from your material nature.

Call up feelings from your spiritual nature.
