"I... I... I'm so SCARED!..."

Hi! I'm Rob, a 24 yr old Christian illustrator from the Seattle area. I do commercial illustration with Horton-Lantz-Marocco, THE BEST design firm in the Northwest! Our clients include Mrs. Fields, Seattle's Best Coffee, Vail, Microsoft, Darigold and Starbucks. I do freelance illustration and web design on the side, and I'm also taking classes at the School of Visual Concepts every once in a while. And along with that, I do design work for a local band, Tuffy. They're totally cool, so keep an eye out in Seattle for their next show and swing by!

Other things n' stuff:

L to R: Jason, me, Mark and Dawn

This is me at the Puyallup fair in 98, and my roomies Mark n' Dawn being silly as usual.

Welcome to The Place (tm)! A spacious and messy townhouse inhabited by myself and the two wacky funsters you see above. It's kind of a reverse Three's Company except I don't have to act gay when my landlord shows up and I don't want to sleep with either of them. ;) I've known Mark since sixth grade. He's a cartoonist and electronic musician, and probably the most creative fellow I know. I recently designed a CD for his music, which came out really well.

Some of my favorite stuff: Star Wars, Reservoir Dogs, and Stand By Me (movies). They Might Be Giants, Save Ferris, Erasure, K's Choice, Tuffy, Sonicflood, Juliana Hatfield and Toad the Wet Sprocket (music) and in terms of books, The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan, the Left Behind series by Tim LaFave, and Stephen King (and no, he doesn't write ONLY horror. The Green Mile, Shawshank Redemption, The Dark Tower- a VERY diverse author, that Steve). And of course, JESUS, KPT Bryce, VeggieTales, Coke Classic, and anything 80's!

On the rare occaisions that I'm not artin', I'm probably wasting my time in front of an old Nintendo game. I love campy old video games like Pac Man, Frogger, Super Dodge Ball, and the all-time coolest, vector Star Wars. I've always wanted to do art for a game company. (So if you're a recruiter, drop me an email!!)

NEWS!! I'm going to Heaven! God's sooo awesome and has changed my life in the most amazing ways! It started back with my last girlfriend Stacey- we'd been going together for a couple years, and she was Christian, i was not yet. I had gone to church with her a number of times, but never really made the leap. As our relationship continued though, I started asking questions and reading a bible I had been given by my father years before. But I still hadn't made "the leap". Stacey's mom had her sights set on me to bring me to Christ, and would talk with me whenever I had questions or if we were having a hard time with the relationship. During that time, I had a couple dreams which I now realize were visions, that I discussed with Stacey's mom quite a bit. They were quite vivid, depicting the apocolypse and what would happen to me. I saw Christ reaching out to me in both of the dreams, but I remember not going to him because I was thinking there was something wrong with me, and that I couldn't let go of control of my life to Him. It was really scary.

Anyways, about a month later, Stacey's church was putting on a show called "Final Destiny" that she invited me to. I hadn't thought about it much, but I told her I would go and be the supportive boyfriend guy. =) I had forgotten about it for about a week, but then the night of the show came, and I think I was having to work. I felt, for some reason, that I HAD to go to this show, so I got out of work. I remember it was all really strange - I didn't know why I had such a strong compulsion to go, but I knew that I needed to be there.

At the end of the presentation, they had the altar call, and nobody was more surprised than me when I found myself on my knees up in front of everybody accepting Christ as Lord and my personal Savior. It was so awesome!

On a side note, before that happened, I had been sending out about 4 resumes a week trying to land an art job while I was in art school, with no results. Then one month TO THE DAY of my salvation I got a call from the director of my art school. She had been contacted by a local design agency who had a need for an illustration student who was really good with the software programs. She recommended me and I went in for an interview, which went awesome. They called me back for a second interview which went really well also, and they told me I had the job. I was sooooo psyched!!! I was finally going to make a living at something I'd been doing as a just a hobby for years. And I owe it all to God!

It paid a lot less than the job I was at at the time, but God told me not to worry, the bills would be covered fine. Sure enough, I started getting freelance jobs on the side right and left.

It has been SO awesome, seeing His hands working in my life. He's been dealing with all of the problems in my life, and has given me nothing but strength and endless love. I can't even tell you how happy I am now!! I just cant understand how anybody could NOT want this kind of happiness in their lives.

So there you have it. Still here? Okay, so now I go to church at Family Life Center in Mukilteo. It's a foursquare church, and is a very fun and loving place to go. I totally love it there- the worship is great, Pastor Herb is a great guy, the people are really warm and loving, and the Holy Spirit is definately moving in FLC. It is just awesome!

That's all. If you'd like to talk to me about any of the above stuff, feel free to drop me an email! I'd love to hear from you!! =)
