In This Expose...

Introduction

The air we breath is being contaminated by asbestos, carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons, nitrogen oxides, particulates and sulfur oxides.

The water we drink is being contaminated by the release of lead from corroded lead pipes, solder and excess dissolved solids.

The land where we grow our food is being contaminated by chemical and other pollutants that interfere with human health and the quality of our lives.

Backyard ecosystems are affected by the water, carbon, oxygen and nitrogen cycles as is the rest of the biosphere. They have their own food webs.
Our backyards are often characterized as luxurious vegetation with greenery growing thickly and richly with insects, bacteria and worms in the soil and birds nesting in the trees much like the wilderness except that in the wilderness luscious greenery is allowed to grow.
