The Green Building

The Green Building
The two old sick bay buildings (students infirmary) are single story, raised wooden buildings built behind the manmade hill located southeast of the Phra Raja Wang Derm.
The Green buildings were built as an infirmary for cadets when Phra Raja Wang Derm was being renovated to house the Navy Academy. The buildings continued in the same use while the academy was located there. At least two other buildings were added to the south, for use as a pharmacy and doctor's lounge. A wooden bridge connected three of the buildings. At present only the phamacy and the wooden bridge remain.
After the Academy was relocated in 1970 (2513), some of the buildings were used by the Naval Communications Department as a radio station. In 1971 (2541) it was turned into a club house.
At present (1993) the hospital building houses the conference room, the dining room, an exercise room and the library. The basement is used for the storage. The smaller building (the pharmacy) is used as a satellite station and officers quarters. Two other buildings were added later next to the western wall : a ladies restroom and a kitchen. The satellite station is located within the same vacinity.
