Laid Back Publications - Bob Gordon's books.

Links to Links!!

The Orchid Mall - The starting point for all your orchid searches. One heck of alot of info and links! The Granddaddy of orchid sale and info sites.

OrchidLinks - A newer site, but looks promising.

Pollinia - Search engine for all things Orchid.

Orchid Info Sites:

American Orchid Society - Has plenty of info, but may not be in the depth you want. Also the site is slow to load, but can be worth the wait.

A J Hicks Orchid FAQ - Maintained by Aaron Hicks, more in depth info on a myriad of orchid topics.

Venger's Orchids - Rod Venger's culture pages are good, an informative site. Also he has an IRC chat group. See details for how to join on his page.

Marg and Charlie Baker - Culture sheets available, TONS of info.

Kew Gardens website - More here than I first thought.

Chat Rooms, Bulletin Boards, Newsgroups:

OrchidSafari Chat Group - A loose conglomeration of enthusiasts from around the world. Offering chat topics by noted speakers on Wednesdays, open chat the rest of the time.

Orchid Weblopedia - Has a Bulletin Board for answering your orchid questions. Maintained by the University of Irvine. Harold Koopowitz used to show up, but rarely does anymore.

AOS BBS - The best part of the AOS site is the Bulletin Board! The OrchidSafari Chat Group sprung out of the AOS BBS. Many people read this BBS daily to answer your questions.

These next 3 sources of information are invaluable, and I highly recommend you join them.

Orchid List Digest - send an email to: MAILSERV@SCUACC.SCU.EDU with SUBSCRIBE ORCHIDS in the body of the message. Run voluntarily by Willis Dair. This was the first online forum of questions, answers, and discussions on any and all orchid topics. Participants are truly from all walks of life and all levels of experience. OLD comes to you as a long email message. There are 2 sites associated with the OLD: Orchid List Digest Photo Exchange run by Troy Meyers. People place photos of their questions online for all to see and respond back knowlegeably. Truely what the information superhighway was all about. And the Orchid List Digest Search Engine, run by an annonymous soul. You can look up past topics and follow threads. A LOT of information!!!

Orchid Discussion Online - send an email to: subscribe@vengers.com and put 'subscribe' in the subject header. Run unselfishly by Rod Venger. ODO comes more frequently than OLD. The idea is the same. It also has a search engine, so you can look up past topics. This group is a little more user friendly. It discourages flame wars and is non commercial.

Usenet Newsgroup - rec.gardens.orchids This requires you to configure your browser to receive Usenet news groups. Contact your ISP for details on how to do that.
