THE FATHER TREE

The tree was so handsome
as it stood so straight and tall
and standing in it's shadow
was another tree, graceful and small

Soon they grew together
Their beauty seen by all
The loving limbs were stretching
and sheltered seeds began to fall

A tiny tree was waiting
to greet the seedlings below
for the family would be completed
with two more in a row

Soon stormy clouds gathered
the graceful tree began to weep
for the handsome tree was leaning
its strength began to seep

Three little trees were alone now
with the graceful tree so small
but with a lot of courage
it became strong for them all

The little trees are big now
with seedlings of their own
and a Handsome Tree in heaven
lovingly prepares a place
called Home
