I am so sorry about Pepper Ann. I am a proud owner of a 17 month old black and white Shih Tzu,named Alexander. After reading your story and what had happened to Pepper Ann,I don't think I will be getting my little Alex neutered. That is my biggest fear,that he will never wake up again. I was going to breed him first then get him fixed. I am just going to breed him one time and forget about getting him fixed. I already lost one Shih Tzu after one week of owning him and won't loose another. Thank you for the information,that is very helpful in my decision. Again I am so sorry for your loss.

I am so sorry to hear about Pepper Ann. Your story just broke my heart. Our Angel is about to turn six months and she is about to be spayed. We have been contemplating getting this procedure done because we are not sure if we want to breed her. Now I m definately rethinking. I am sure that Pepper Ann loved her family very much. I was heartbroken when I read Pepper Ann's Story. Gabby, my 6 month old Shih Tzu, is scheduled for her spaying in 2 weeks and I had no idea about the prescreening test you mentioned. I called my vet immediately and am having the test performed. Thank y u so much for the information. Once again, I am so sorry for your loss, Pepper Ann was gorgeous and from the pictures, apparently a real sweetheart!
