Please keep the memory of these special needs rescued Rotties that have crossed the Bridge in your heart.
Some of them never stood a chance to fully recover because of the abuse or neglect they suffered....

Some of them at the bridge are different.
They were beaten, starved, tortured, and unloved.
They watch wistfully as their friends leave one by one,
to cross the bridge with their special person.

For them there is no one, no special one.
Their time on earth did not give them one.
But one day, as they run and play,

they notice someone standing by the road to the Bridge.
This person wistfully watches the reunions of friends,
for in their life, they had no pet.

They were beaten, starved, tortured, and unloved.
As they stand there alone, one of the unloved pets comes up to them,
curious as to why this one is alone.
And as they get nearer to each other, a miracle occurs,
for these are the one who were meant to be together.

Their special person, their beloved pet,
although on Earth they never met.
With the meeting of two souls,

the pain and the sorrow disappears,
and two friends are together.

Then they cross the Rainbow Bridge together, never again to be separated.

Josh-SSRR

Josh was a very dignified 8 year older gentleman who on June 2000 was diagnosed with lymphosarcoma. Josh spent what time he had left with his foster mom who loved him.
8/12/2000 -
Josh made his journey to the Bridge. Josh was beginning to show signs he was hurting, and would not eat. His foster mom knew it was time. She had promised Josh she would not let him suffer, and kept her promise to Josh. The last years of his life Josh has known an adoptive family who cared enough to give him up when they could no longer care for him, and has known the love and kindness of his (foster) mom who loved him unconditionally. Josh was not just another rescue to his (foster) mom, he was a very special boy and will be missed terribly.

Sasha

November 14, 1998 Sasha, a 6 year old felmale Rottie, crossed over the bridge. The pain with her disabilities from a life of abuse were just too much to bear and unable to be corrected well enough to do any good.
Sasha was a 6 year old female. An anonymous call said that there was a Rottie in danger of dying of starvation. Sasha was found in terrible condition...she was filthy, starving and her eyes glued shut from repeated eye infections. My vet looked at her eyes, and said that she had a terrible case of entropian, he tacked her eyelid back that day. She was partially blind.

Turbo

November 17, 1998 Turbo, a 18 month old male Rottie, crossed over the bridge.
Turbo's disabilities were just too much for him. Turbo crossed over the bridge in a home with all the board members of Champaign County Rottweiler Rescue together....." we fed and fed him and all stroked him as he went over the bridge".................
Turbo was a 18mo male. He came from a puppy mill situation. He was dysplastic and his knees did not develop correctly. Our vet has made him "new" knees, and we removed one femoral head, he needed to have the other removed.
