During this time of the year in every store and every corner market you are beginning to see plants for your home and garden.  So Madame Birdbrain thought this would be a good time to give you some points and tips to keep your babies safe from harmful plants.

Some plants can even be fatal from just chewing on the leaves like parrots and many small birds are prone to do, as this is one of their favorite passtimes chewing........ and chewing....

If your baby has been chewing on any of the above mentioned plants or any that you think are toxic immediately call your Avian Vet and rush him over there with the plant, any vomit, and the most recent dropping, so the vet will be able to tell what type of poison the baby has ingested. The main thing is to stay calm and keep the baby quite and calm until you can get to the vet. If your Avian Vet is not availible call your local Poison Control for advise, they are there to help usually 24 hours a day.

Madame Birdbrain says please keep your babies safe and healthy.  When in doubt ask.....
