Welcome to my small but hopefully helpful United States Air Force Starting Point.
First, I would like to say that all the opionions expressed on these pages are my own and are by no means indorsed by the Department of Defense or the US Air Force.
I'm not a recruiter, but if asked, I'll provide you the information you request to the best of my ability. Ia was in the Air Force for 14 years, and was exposed to many different levels and functions of the Air Force.
A brief recap of my Air Force career goes something like this:
-
I enlisted into the Delayed Enlisted Program during my senior year at Skowhegan Area High School, Skowhegan, Maine
-
My recruiter was Technical Sergeant John Doucette (he evetually retired as a Master Sergeant)
-
I reported for basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, on 1 July 1986
-
I was assigned to the 3704th Basic Military Training Squadron, Flight 247
-
Upon graduation from basic, I was chosen to attend the Administrative Specialist technical training school at Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi
-
During my last couple of weeks at Keesler my first orders came through---the Air Force was sending me to Yokota Air Base, Japan!!!!!!!!!!! I was not happy to say the least. I was an 18 year-old small town kid from Maine, and they were sending me
to one of the most heavily populated cities in the world!
