William Henry Sadbury (Sedberry), Pvt. with Co. A, 11th/17th Consol. Arkansas Inf. William was born 24 Oct. 1847/48 in Tennessee, and died 10 Oct. 1923 in Merkel, Tx. He is buried in Hawley Cemetery, Jones Co., Tx. According to William's Pension Application, approved 20 Mar. 1906, #11551, the Physicians Affadavit states William told him his horse rolled over on him at Poison Springs during a calvary charge, and he suffered injuries prohibiting him from work. Family lore has him enlisting in July/Aug. 1861 in Co. K, 11th Ark. Inf., at the age of 14. William did not state his exact discharge date, but said it was in May 1865.
