Pvt.,Co.A., 37th Miss. Regt.
Benjamin Franklin Eubank, b. 1832, d. March 28, 1905, was a private in Company A 37th Mississippi Regiment, Canty's Brigade, Wallthall Division.

With 4 small children at home Ben was called to service in the Southern Army.
He was gone 4 years, was captured with many others and carried north and
imprisoned, suffering, cold and hunger almost unbearable. There was one
incident that could never be forgotten. While there in a great shed like
barracks, when a certain Major came through his little dog always followed
him. One poor hungry fellow caught the dog secretly hid him and when all was
clear he killed him and they had food. Ben said he ask for just a few bites.
When he finally returned home so weak he could hardly
walk, and could eat only a few bites. He moved with his family from Newton Co. MS. to
Regency,Texas and is buried near Goldthwaite, TX. - Mills Co.
