WELCOME TO WEBRING 4 ALL'S HOMEPAGE

Click here for an important notice for existing Webring4All members

I decided I would have to to create my own webring whilst trying (and failing) to find a suitable ring to place one of my sites on. Whilst I would vigorously defend the right to free speech and accept that censorship of the Internet is not possible even if it were desirable, I would even more vigorously defend the right NOT to be assaulted by unwanted material whilst innocently surfing the web.

This ring was originally created to link all my own websites but I also welcome any other sites to the ring providing they fulfil ALL the following criteria :

NO so-called "adult" material at all. I would like to think my eight-year-old daughter and my eighty-year-old grandmother could view your site. I don't mind if they would be puzzled or even bored (although I would prefer it if they were entertained,) but I will NOT have them offended or upset. For that reason, sites containing pornography, whether explicit or implicit, nudity (whether "tasteful" or not) or anything of a similar nature will be excluded. There are plenty of webrings for these sites. This is not one of them.

No profanity, blasphemy or any other inappropriate language. If you are incapable of expressing yourself without resorting to bad language, your site is not suitable for this ring. Equally, sites which attack or seek to distress others on grounds of race, religion, disability, gender or sexual orientation are also not welcome.

A complete website - I don't mind if you are still working on your site - in fact, regular updates are good, it shows you are still interested in your site - but please, not just an index page and a page of links with the rest of your site peppered with "Under Construction" notices. Make sure your site has some content before submitting it.

These considerations apart, feel free to submit your site to the webring. Member sites so far cover a complete miscellany - personal homepages, pet and family pages, genealogy, Girl Guides and Girl Scouts, regional information and history, writing and poetry, graphics, sports teams and events etc..

I reserve the right to refuse membership to any site I consider unsuitable.

JOIN THIS RING

If you have a Yahoo ID, you will be prompted to enter it : if not, you are a "new User" and will be given a simple form to fill in. Once you have a "Yahoo ID" the "join form" is child's play.

Since the takeover of Webring.org by Yahoo, many things have changed, not least the introduction of their own java "Nav Bar." You do NOT have to use this link if you don't want to - the old HTML links can still be used. If you prefer the styles shown below, just copy the appropriate HTML and insert your own email address, name and site number where indicated, then EMAIL ME to let me know you have put the link on your site (as otherwise I will not know, since Yahoo no longer tell me....)

You will also need to copy the graphic for the style of panel you have chosen, and also its background if you want it to look exactly like these : upload them to your website and the HTML as set will do the rest.

FOR EXISTING RING MEMBERS:
How to edit your webring information
now that Yahoo & Webring have merged

First click HERE and scroll down to the Ring Members bit at the bottom : type in the ring ID ( 896712 ) your site ID and your password (I hope you know these as I no longer have any way of finding them for you.....Yahoo/Webring will tell you if you ask them nicely.) You will then be taken to a Yahoo/Webring sign-in page: if you already have a Yahoo ID, just sign in as normal, otherwise click on Sign Me Up and follow the instructions from there; you will be taken to a page where you can associate your site with your Yahoo ID (their idea, not mine!) - click on the top option; they will then congratulate you for being so clever - ignore that, and click on "My Rings" at the bottom of the page: you will then get a list of all the sites and webrings you have associated with your ID (until you associate them, you can't edit them!) - go to the extreme right edge of the page and there, alongside the ring name and your site name, in tiny tiny print it says "manage site" - click and you're in!!! (But be prepared for glitches - the system is still very new.)
