Summer Wind

"Inside Grows a Garden"

I gaze upon the garden
taking breath from life within
and venture thought of comparision
with my foliage friends.

I look upon their beauty
of natural grace and form
scattered 'midst the winter death
and cutting-edged thorn.
So eager to rest their weary heads,
cast aside, spent, unfound,
willing to linger for a moments breath
upon the coldest ground.

Holding solid the roots of their convictions
among the strangling weeds,
Willing to sacrifice themselves
for another blossom's needs.
Proprogating..Germinating..
Seeking to add beauty to our world
in every type of shape and use,
their existence to unfurl.

Lasting only just as long
as someone cares to share
a loving touch, a passion
for it to grow so fair.
But then to lie in waste
by nature's raging storm
if noone shows the haste
to protect its gentle form.
