My car is a 1963 MGB, the first model year of the MGB. It has a low serial number (GHN3L-13044) and was built in May of 1963. I purchased the car in April 1999 after several months of looking for an early B roadster. In 1998 my 1969 MGB Roadster was diagnosed with terminal cancer and was deemed not worth repairing, so I sold it for parts over the winter months. I found the 63 in St.Louis, Missouri, which was quite a trek from Portsmouth, NH. The deal was made and I had the car shipped home instead of driving a 36 year old car that I didn't really know all that well on the 1300 mile trip.

A Picture of my 1963 MG
My MG

The previous owner spent quite a bit of time on the body, there are several new panels such as floors, sills, doors, etc. The car has a brand new leather interior, new carpeting and new inner door panels. My car is fairly unique as it had a rear seat pad which came from the factory, the PO used an MGB-GT rear seat pad when he did the interior. I did have to do a few finishing touches to the car to get it ready, but the car has a strong engine (40 PSI at idle, 65 running) and is a blast to drive. Everywhere we go people comment on how nice the car is, the body is very straight and is an excellent example of an early MGB. I hope to show the car a little bit but my main objective is to just drive and enjoy the car!

Other then my MG, I enjoy the music of Jimmy Buffett and the Parrothead lifestyle. Maybe thats why I bought an MG? As Jimmy sings, "We'll throw all our cares away, "Ragtop Day". Another thing that I really enjoy is homebrewing my own beer. I do this mainly in the winter months when the MG is in storage. I have an excellent recipe called "One Particular Lager", which is my Parrothead beer. I am now trying to formulate a homebrew recipe for "Old Speckled Hen", the MG beer brewed in Abingdon, England.
