THE HAWAII FIVE-O CARPAGE

This is the second section for Seasons 8-12, in which the same format used on the previous page follows over, up to the final years of Hawai'i Five-O.

Eighth Season (1975-76)

Episode 169: Murder -- Eyes Only

There is a scene in front of King's Florist, in which a 1974 Chevrolet G-series van is parked. In a later scene, where McGarrett, Naval Intelligence, and Five-O are tailing, the parking lot adjacent to King's Florist had a VW Beetle, a 1966 Oldsmobile Cutlass, a 1974 Chevelle Malibu Classic station wagon, a 1962 Chevy II, a 1973 El Camino Classic, and a 1973 Vette parked. A scene in which McGarrett and Lt. Waldron are having a conversation had a Dodge 100 pickup parked, and when the camera follows, a 1969 Toyota Corolla is seen. Later, when the camera zooms on McGarrett and Lt. Waldron, a partial view of a VW Beetle and a 1974 Chevrolet G-series van are seen.

The scene at Honolulu International Airport, in which McGarrett is speaking to an irate Sam Bissell, had a 1962 Chevrolet Impala parked. A later scene, at a photo processing center, where one of Wo Fat's agents is about to go to King's Florist, had a 1967-70 Chevrolet Beauville van parked in the parking lot. The intersection scene, where Wo's spy crosses, had a 1970 Cadillac Fleetwood at a stoplight. When Chong, Wo Fat's right-hand man, hops in to a Palm Taxi (which was a 1974 Mercury Colony Park station wagon), a Bay Window VW Bus (a Westfalia Camper) and a 1968 Camaro are seen in the background shot. The ambulance used at the Pendler Clinic is a Dodge van.

Episode 170: McGarrett is Missing

When Charlie Bombay is unloading a delivery van, a 1973 Plymouth Fury III (HPD unit #123) is seen, parked next to the van. The scene at the ranch (on the Big Island) had three dead vehicles, which included a 1962 Chevy II station wagon, a WWII era flat fendered Jeep (an M38), and a Dodge van (an ex-postal service vehicle).

Moe Keale, who was casted as bodyguards/henchmen, and a servant (Episode 73), appears as a uniformed cop, when Charlie Bombay is arrested.

Episode 171: Termination with Extreme Prejudice

There is a scene in which Lord Danby rents a 1974 Marquis sedan, and a Toyota Corolla is seen in the background shot. Later, he parks his rented car in front of Wo Fat's Chop Suey (the real restaurant), and a 1967 Plymouth Fury III sedan and a 1973 Nova 4-door are seen. A later scene, in which Harry Wells (Michael O'Herlihy, well known at the "Old Man" in the RoboCop movies) and McGarrett are outside Far East Trade (located off 111 Hotel Street), a 1970s era Chevrolet G-series van is seen parked, and the vehicles in traffic include a 1960 Plymouth, a 1973 Chevrolet pickup, a 1965 Buick Riviera, a 1964 Plymouth Barracuda, a 1969-72 Nova 2-door, and when McGarrett leaves, a 1972 Chevelle station wagon is seen in the background shot. When Chin Ho tails Lord Danby (while en route to the Kyoto Temple), a 1970-73 Camaro RS is seen, along with a VW Beetle parked across the street.

The hotel in which Ms. Danby is staying had a VW Type 181 (a.k.a. The Thing) parked in the parking lot of the Hali Kalama, when McGarrett and Danno are staked out. Wells is in a 1975 Chevrolet Caprice Classic ragtop, when he is in pursuit of Lord Danby.

Note: Wo Fat's Chop Suey Restaurant is actually a cover for Yun Kee's (Kwan Hi Lim) connection to the Red Chinese.

Episode 172: Target?  The Lady

The scene in which Susan Bradshaw (Susan Dey) is seen in a 1971 Mustang convertible had a 1973 Oldsmobile Cutlass parked, and when she makes a right turn, a 1971 Camaro is seen. A Buick Riviera is seen parked in the background shot when she flees, and when Kimo Yoshihara (Jake Hoopai, a.k.a. Mr. Elissa Dulce) hops into a green 1974 Marquis, and makes a wrong turn, a 1966 Chevrolet Impala is seen parked. During the chase scene, a VW Beetle is parked on the side of the street. When Susan pulls into a parking lot, three VW Beetles are seen (one of the Bugs that Susan runs past is a 1968), and the other vehicles seen include a 1971 Dodge Charger, a VW Karmann Ghia, a Toyota Corolla, and a Datsun 510. When she hides, a 1968 Cadillac and a 1964 Buick limosuine are seen parked.

When Susan is walking past a couple of vendors, a 1969 Pontiac Firebird (one of the vendor's cars, reminiscent of a swap meet), a 1973 Nova 4-door, and a 60s era Dodge stepside pickup are seen. Later, at a Chevron gas station, in which Ms. Bradshaw wanted to catch a bus, a Chevrolet El Camino (1964-67 vintage) is seen, and after she sees the hitmen (Kimo and Hatch), she runs past a 60s vintage VW Beetle. After her brother is bumped on the head by the hitmen, a 1973 Dodge van is used as an ambulance. The traffic scene, in which Ms. Bradshaw is going to a yacht marina, had a 1965 Chevrolet Impala ragtop seen in traffic, and the other vehicles seen include a BMW 2002, a 1969 Buick Skylark 4-door, a Corvair, a couple of Bay Window VW Buses, and a 1970 Pontiac LeMans 2-door hardtop. When she parks the Bronco at the marina, a VW Karmann Ghia is seen parked, and the hitmen are parked next to a Pontiac Firebird. When Danno and Chin pull into the yacht marina, a couple of VW Beetles are seen, parked.

Episode 174: The Case Against McGarrett

When Danno heads off to the Iolani Palace, after seeing the morning paper, a VW Beetle is seen in front of the Ilikai, and in traffic, from the interior of Danno's LTD, a 1970 Cadillac and a 1975 Oldsmobile Delta 88 are seen. In a later scene, in which McGarrett is en route to Hawaii (Oahu) State Prison (a Shell gas station is seen in the background), a Toyota Corolla, a 1969 Chevrolet Impala Custom, and a 1971 Plymouth Duster are seen. Honore Vashon and Saito (Seth Sakai) are having a conversation in the prison yard, and the parking lot, in front of the fence, had a 1966 Chevrolet Fleetside pickup, a 1962 Oldsmobile Starifre, a 1968 Chevelle 4-door hardtop sedan, two VW Type III Squarebacks, and a 1971 AMC Hornet. When the visiting delegates arrive at Oahu State Prison, a 1969 Cadillac limosuine is seen, with HPD Harleys as the escort vehicles. The cop car (#240) seen when Vashon and McGarrett speak with bullhorns is a 1974 Chevrolet Impala, and the SWAT vehicle that pulls up in a later scene is a 1966 Chevrolet Commerical.

Episode 175: The Defector

The scene in the car (a U.S. Navy vehicle) in which Dr. Ormsbee and Chiang Lu (Soon-Teck Oh) are having a conversation about the 1962 World Series had a few vehicles seen from the back window, which include a 1972 Pontiac Ventura 2-door and a 1963 Chevrolet station wagon. Another scene in which McGarrett makes a right turn had a 1963 Chevrolet Impala 2-door hardtop in the parking lot, and a VW Beetle is seen, pulling into the parking lot. The street scene in which the LTD (used by the U.S. Navy) is tailed, had in the traffic scene, a 1973 Nova 2-door, a 1966 Buick Skylark hardtop, a 1973 Chevrolet Impala sedan (as a taxicab), and the car that is in McGarrett's blind spot is a 1970 Cadillac Fleetwood. In another scene, a Dodge pickup and a Fiat X 1/9 are seen. A 1964 Chevrolet is seen, when the LTD is seen in another camera shot, and when McGarrett radios in a red alert, a 1968 VW Beetle is seen in a driveway, located at 5691 Kalanianiola Highway.

Episode 177: Retire in Sunny Hawaii -- Forever

The scene at Honolulu International Airport, where Aunt Clara (Helen Hayes) and Edgar P. Miller (Ian Wolfe) are leaving in Danno's LTD, a Datsun Z-car and two VW Beetles are seen. The Z-car appears later, when the fake Mr. Miller arrives, and hops into a Palm Taxi (a 1974 Mercury Colony Park). When a cop car arrives at the crime scene, where the real Mr. Miller is found, the parking lot adjacent to the beach has 3 VW Beetles, a VW Type III, and a sixties-era VW Bus. Later, at a retirement home, the vehicles seen in the parking lot include a couple of 1974 Chevrolet vans, and 2 VW Type IIIs. One scene in front of the State of Hawaii Records Building had a 1968 Chevrolet stepside pickup seen. The surveillance vehicle used is a light blue 1974 Chevrolet van (used by Oahu Dry Cleaning), and the vehicles parked next to the van include a 1968 Chevrolet Impala, and a 1971 Plymouth Satellite 4-door is seen under a carport. When the taxicab arrives, a VW Type III Squareback is seen, and when McGarrett pulls in (via silent approach), a 1973 Chevrolet Monte Carlo is seen, parked, on the side of the street.

Episode 179: The Waterfront Steal

In front of H. Kaneho's (David "Lippy" Espinda) pawn shop, a 1972 Camaro is seen, and when Danno and Luis Kimura leave, after he pawns a jade ring, a 1972 Chevelle 4-door hardtop sedan is seen in the background. The next scene, at a pool hall, had a VW Beetle seen in traffic, in which Harry Opala (Ric Marlow) is seen with Jose Mendoza (Simon Oakland). Later, at Mendoza's warehouse, after Tommy Lin (Richard Lawrence Hatch) is shot, a 1973 Plymouth Satellite station wagon and a 1972 Cadillac Commerical are seen simutaneously.

When Opala and Zeno Kohana (Alan Naluai) are at a parking lot, a 1971-73 Pontiac Firebird, a 1973 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme, and a 1960/61 Chevrolet pickup are seen, in which Opala hotwires a 1967 Ford Falcon. The motorcycle cop uses an HPD Harley, and in another frame, a VW Bus is seen. A Porsche 914 is seen, at Mendoza's home.

Note: Tommy Lin's car is a 1970 Ford Custom 500, and the roughed up paint (in which primer spots are seen) suggested that the car was an old HPD unit, auctioned off for sale.

Episode 181: A Touch of Guilt

The parking lot scene, in front of the Makai Lagoon Club, had a VW Beetle parked. The beach scene, where Lani Okano (Beverly Kushida) was raped, in which HPD officers are searching for a silver choker, a 1974 Chevrolet Impala is seen, along with a Bell Ranger helicopter.

Episode 182: Wooden Model of a Rat

The scene in front of the museum had a VW Karmann Ghia that pulls into the parking lot. Suzari's (Kwan Hi Lim) ragtop is a 1971 Cadillac Eldorado, which has a few dents. A later scene, in which Danno and Melinda Grant (Josie Over) meet at the War Memorial, a 1964 Chevrolet Impala hardtop is seen, parked.

Episode 184: Legacy of Terror

Alex Kelsey (Don Porter, seen earlier as Jonathan Cavel) is in a Jaguar XJ6 sedan, outside of Minouri Tahashi's store, and at his funeral, a 1966 VW Beetle and a 1973 Chevelle sedan are seen, parked. The scene in front of Tokyo International Bank had a 1970-73 Camaro seen. Stock footage is used in this episode, with a fire truck (from Episode 85) and ambulance (1969/70 Cadillac Commerical) driving on the highway.

Episode 185: Loose Ends Get Hit

After McGarrett leaves the hospital, and is escorted by Sandi Wells, a VW Bus, Bug, and 1973 Buick Regal are seen in traffic. After they leave Kum Chi's Amusements, located on 737 Kapuhulu Street, McGarrett and Officer Wells evade two of Kum Chi's security guards, and they are in a 1974 Lincoln Continental. During the chase scene, a spoof occurs, in which a 1971 Marquis is seen, and a later shot, in which the Lincoln rolls over, a 1968 Park Lane (McGarrett's original car) is seen. Kum Chi goes to The Crennery, which is owned by Madeleine Madrid (Lynne Ellen Hollinger), and he drives a 1975 Mercedes-Benz 450SEL. A 1971-73 Cadillac Sedan De Ville is seen, parked in front of The Crennery.

In a later scene, where Danno serves a warrant, a 1971 Ford Torino GT is seen, and when Billy Madrid evades two LAPD cops, he passes a Chevrolet G-series van, and when he makes a right turn, a 1966 GMC pickup is seen.

Episode 186: Anatomy of a Bribe

The building inspector, in one scene, drives a 1974 Pontiac Ventura sedan.

Episode 187: Turkey Shoot at Makapuu

A Porsche 914 and Toyota Land Cruiser are seen, after Molly Taggart hang glides. When the Porsche stalls, a Chevrolet G-series van pulls up, in which Blooey (Billy Roessler) and Tonker (Chuck-Chuck Akamine) strip some parts from the Porsche. When the thugs go to Oscar Lang's shop to sell the 8-track, along with the other Porsche parts, the cars seen in Oscar's shop include a Plymouth Barracuda, a 1975 Toyota Celica, and a VW Beetle. The gas station, adjacent to Oscar's shop, had a Plymouth Duster and Lincoln Mark III seen.

The Porsche is later found, stripped, and McGarrett arrives in a 1974 Chevrolet Impala (an HPD squad car). The squad car is later used in another scene, in which Oscar Lang is taken to Five-O. A dune buggy, with VW Beetle taillights, is used by the car strippers.

When Molly's brother is found dead on arrival, a Datsun pickup is seen at the port, and when Danno escorts Molly in the Land Cruiser, in which they pull into a service station, a 1969 Buick Skylark hardtop and 1966 Chevrolet pickup are seen, and when Molly uses the rest room, a 1963 Chevrolet crew cab pickup is seen (the same one from Episode 148). When the thugs are driving ewa on Diamond Head Road, a couple of VW Beetles are seen.

Episode 189: The Capsule Kidnapping

When Colburn (Bruce Boxleitner) goes to his apartment, a VW Beetle is seen, and when McGarrett looks out the window of Colburn's apartment, a VW Beetle and a 1964-68 Mustang fastback are seen. In a later scene, in which Danno and Chin Ho (in McGarrett's 1968 Park Lane, lic # 2H-3163) are stuck in traffic, a Toyota Corolla and a 1970 Dodge Dart sedan are seen. When Sunohara arrives at the site where he delivers the ransom money, he is in a 1974 Chevrolet Impala (HPD #236). The finale in which the airplane takes off had a 1972 Buick Skylark ragtop and a Vega in the background shot.

Note: the Park Lane had the "Mercury" emblem taped up, and no one knows if the plates were switched!!!

Ninth Season (1976-77)

Episode 196: Tour De Force -- Killer Abroad

A 1974 Chevrolet Impala (an HPD unit) is seen a couple of times at Honolulu International Airport, and the OPEC ministers arrive in a 1976 Cadillac limosuine.

Episode 197: The Last of the Great Paperhangers

When Hunter R. Hickey and Janice Lockman (Kevin McCarthy and Elaine Giftos) are in a Maverick sedan, a 1970-72 Monte Carlo, a Plymouth Duster, and a Dart sedan are seen. When McGarrett autographs an issue of Honolulu Magazine, in which a kid gives the autographed copy to Ms. Lockman, a Chevrolet Van and a 1971 Plymouth are seen.

The scene in which Naval personnel arriving at the Bank of Honolulu (with the fountain), a 1973 Plymouth Fury III, and two SUVs, which include an International Scout, and a Kaiser Willys, are seen. (This scene is later used as stock footage, in which Hickey and his henchmen make their planned hit.) Ms. Lockman purchases an International Harvester Scout for $1750, and there is a scene in which Hickey paints a Kaiser Willys Jeep. (The Scout is later repainted to resemble naval vehicles.) A 1968 Plymouth Fury III is seen when Ms. Lockman leaves.

When Hickey leaves the Ilikai, in a later scne, a 1968 Plymouth, 1976 Chevette, and a Porsche 911 are seen in the parking lot in front of the Ilikai lobby. When Chin Ho and Duke tail Hickey, a VW Karmann Ghia is seen in the background shot. When the Naval officer hops into a 1973 Plymouth Fury III sedan, a 1970-73 Camaro is seen in the background shot. The next scene, in which Hickey goes to a lei shop and purchases a lei wreath, a Vette is seen when he parks his Maverick.

When Chin and Duke turn onto Wailea Street, a 1969 Chevelle hardtop is seen, along with a Chevrolet van. The next shot is in front of the Bank of Honolulu, and the vehicles seen in traffic are a 1975 Chevelle station wagon, a 1974 Vega wagon, and a Postal Jeep DJ-5 (with the 2-tone colors!). When Janice Lockman summons a cop, in which she was followed, a VW Rabbit is seen in the background shot.

Episode 198: Heads, You're Dead

An elderly Chinese man, who drives a 1972 Chevrolet C-30 flatbed pickup, picks up the three hijackers, and at the marina where the Sea Sage is in port, a 1972 Chevrolet stepside pickup is seen. When Danno arrives at the marina, in undercover attire, a 1971/72 Chevelle station wagon and a couple of VW Beetles are seen (one of the Bugs is a 1967), along with an Opel GT. When Sandi Wells sneaks on board the Sea Sage, a VW Bay Window Bus is seen when one of the hijackers shows himself.

Episode 199: Let Death do Us Part

When Jim Spier (Jack Kelly) escapes from Oahu State Prison, he hops into a 1969 Chevrolet C-10 stepside pickup, and in a later scene, in which Claudine Hessler (Linda Ryan) is in a parking lot, a VW Bus, Plymouth Barracuda, and a VW Bug are seen.

Note: a stock shot of McGarrett's Park Lane is seen.

Episode 200: Double Exposure

Anne Waring's Porsche 914 is similar to the one used in Episode 187: Turkey Shoot at Makapuu, and the background shot in the parking lot includes a Dodge Dart 2-door, and a 1975 Monte Carlo. The next scene, in which Allen Sherick (George Wyner) and Angelo Okima (John Gracianno) arrive at the marina in a 1976 Lincoln Mark IV, had a VW Beetle seen in the background. When Anne Waring departs from a bus, the vehicles seen in traffic include a 1970-72 Nova and a VW Beetle. A 1976 Plymouth Valiant 4-door is seen, when Waring's friend shows up. The ambulance that escorts Ms. Waring is a 1966 Pontiac Commercial (with a gross 2-tone orange paint job!).

Note: the stunt vehicle that explodes (when McGarrett is in a McDonnell Dougles 500 helicopter, firing a MAC 10) is a mid 70s Ford Torino. This scene can be seen in Jack Lord's movie M Station -- Hawaii (tip submitted by Mike Quigley), in which the exploding Ford is used as stock footage.

Episode 202: Target -- A Cop

When Tim Ryder leaves a hock shop, owned by Mr. Oni (Terry Plunkett), a 1970 Dodge Coronet sedan (a taxicab) is seen. Ryder drives a beaten 1968 Cougar, which rolls over on the highway. In a later scene, at a music shop, Ryder leaves, and the vehicles seen in traffic include a 1973/74 Nova, a 1973 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme, Datsun 510, VW Beetle, and a 1971 Dodge Coronet sedan. When Ryder makes a turn, he passes a traffic cop citing a driver in a Ford van, while an Opel Manta makes a right turn. A 1971 Dart hardtop is seen on the highway, when Nathan Purdy tails.

The parking garage, at the Mauna Loa Apartments off Hawaii Kai, had a 1971/72 Oldsmobile Cutlass ragtop, a Triumph TR6, and a 1941 Chevrolet Fleetmaster coupe seen. While McGarrett and Danno hop into an HPD unit (#166), a 1975 Chevrolet Malibu is seen, parked.

Note: Stock shots of cop cars (a 1967 Ford Custom) from Season 2 are seen, and the 1970 Custom (HPD #166, seen in Episode 198) is a picture car, with the side mirror missing.

Episode 203: The Bells Toll at Noon

Johnny Kling (comedian Rich Little) drives a 1971 VW Super Beetle, and when he parks his Bug (when Charlie is killed in front of a church), a Chrysler sedan is seen, parked. Later, at the Manukai Hotel, a VW Kombi Bus is seen, when McGarrett pulls into the parking lot. The ambulance that is seen, which hauls Kellman (who is killed earlier), is a Dodge van. The finale had a classic fire vehicle seen, along with a 1973 Plymouth Fury III (an unlikely choice as an HPD squad car).

Episode 204: Man in a Steel Frame

When a Mustang II is found in a rental car parking lot, a Dodge van (an HPD Mobile Crime Unit vehicle) is seen, and one of the parked cars is an El Camino. There is a stock shot in front of the Ilikai, in which a 1965 Chevelle 4-door is seen. Later, when Danno escorts McGarrett, the background traffic included a VW Beetle, a 1973 Dodge Dart 2-door, and a Cadillac limosuine. When Danno stops, and McGarrett remembers that someone had access to his locker, a 1966 VW Beetle is seen, in which the driver loads his tennis gear in the trunk (hood). After Sam Waiula (Alan Naluai) reveals Malcolm Vaughan's whereabouts, the hideout that he is located had a Triumph TR6 parked. A 1973 Buick Special Colonnade coupe is seen (as a Maui P.D. unit).

Episode 206: Elegy in a Rain Forest

The vehicle that transports Marcus Lucien (Willam Watson, last seen in Episode 93) is a Dodge chassis cab pickup. When Duke and Chin Ho serve a warrant at Homer Womano's (stuntman Beau Van Den Ecker) apartment, a 1960-63 Chevrolet stepside pickup is seen. When Womano flees in a 1967 Ford Fairlane, the vehicles seen in the chase scene (filmed from both the Fairlane and Duke's LTD) are a 1976 Dodge Aspen Cabriolet, and the truck that Womano passes is a Sears delivery truck (note the green paint and white lettering). Close-up shots (in slow motion) of the vehicles at a stoplight include a Chevrolet van, a 1976 Buick LeSabre 2-door, and a 1973-76 Chevrolet C-30 wrecker. The chase scene goes along a highway service road, and Duke passes a Datsun pickup. The parked vehicles that follow in the camera shot include a 1970-72 Monte Carlo, a 1968 Camaro, and a 1968 Chevrolet Impala.

When Womano makes a right turn, a 1967-72 Chevrolet pickup is seen at a stoplight, and when he makes another right on a small road, a 1966 Chevelle convertible and a 1967 Impala station wagon are seen. The "hot pursuit" continues onto a dirt road, and the vehicles seen (from the Fairlane) include a 1966 El Camino, a 1965 and 1963 Chevrolet Impala, and another shot (taken from Duke's LTD) includes a 1972 Pontiac LeMans and 1971 Chevelle hardtop. When Duke andChin Ho lose Womano at the intersection of Paloma and Vineyard Street, a 1972 Buick Sportwagon is seen in the background shot.

Duke and Chin Ho are passing through a marina parking lot, and the vehicles seen are a 1969 Camaro, a 1973-77 Chevrolet pickup, and a 1973 Chevelle sedan. Later, when Womano's Fairlane is found at an Oahu wrecking yard, the first shot is at a pile of miscellaneous auto parts, and the first shot had a grille from a Ford, and a left fender from a VW Beetle. The foot pursuit ensues, and the vehicles seen in close up shots include a Datsun 510, a Ford Falcon, a 1968 Cadillac ragtop, and a mid 70s Chevrolet station wagon. There is a fight scene in which Womano busts the side window of a 1964 Ford Galaxie, and when Duke finally captures Womano, he is on top of a 1963 Chevrolet Impala hardtop.

Episode 207: Dealer's Choice -- Blackmail

A 1976 Cadillac limosuine and a 1973 Vette are seen, and Mike Welles drives a 1971 VW Bus. When Officer Keoki is killed, there are two GM A-specials seen (a 1973 Buick Regal and a 1976 Pontiac Grand Prix), and the car that was used in the hit-and-run was a 1976 Lincoln Continental Town Car (lic #6B-4913). Victor Palua's right-hand man drives a 1969 Marquis hardtop sedan, and there is a scene in a parking garage (where Danno and Chin Ho have a word with the parking garage attendant), in which a VW Karmann Ghia is seen. Palua's man shows up again, in which Mike leaves a snow cone vendor, and the vehicles that are seen, in which Mike flees, and hides in the back of a 1976 Marquis, had a 1962-65 Chevy II hardtop and a 1967-72 Chevrolet pickup seen in traffic. A VW Beetle is seen, when Palua's man runs the other way. Later, at Mike's apartment, a Triumph Spitfire is seen.

Note: the HPD #166 "picture car" is used again, and there is a stock shot from Episode 6: Twenty Four Karat Kill, in which a car (a Mercedes) enters the Ilikai garage.

Episode 208: A Capitol Crime

The scene, in which a Honolulu transit Bus shows up had a 1976 Nova 4-door seen, and a 1970 Chevelle is seen in the background shot, in which Clinton Palmer (Barnard Hughes, well known as Grandpa in The Lost Boys) When George Hawley (Dick Davalos) is being transported, the vehicle seen outside the Iolani Palace is a 1976 GMC 1-ton chassis cab. A VW Bay Window Bus is driven by Mary Beth Rogers (Sharon Farrell, in her Five-O debut). Another scene in which Hawley is transferred into a Five-O vehicle had an MG parked. At the crime scene, a Dodge van is used as an ambulance. There is a scene in which Amy Nichols (Elsie Russell) arrives in a classic, fat-fendered Dodge sedan.

Episode 210: Blood Money is Hard to Wash

There is a scene in front of the Aloha Stadium, in which a 1976 Cadillac limosuine is parked in a red zone. Later, at a golf course, a Chevrolet van is used as a surveillance vehicle. After Victor Jovanko retuns to Honolulu, in which one of his "soldiers" (Terry "Bernie" Kiser) wields a double-barrel 12 gauge, and the side window on McGarrett's Marquis had a fake window attached, which was shot. When the rented Maverick is seen, a 1976 Dodge Dart sedan and a 1973 Pontiac Grand Prix are seen. A Dodge van, used by Pacific Ambulance, is seen, and when the ambulance arrives at Queens Hospital, a 1974 Plymouth Satellite Custom station wagon is seen in the hospital parking lot.

Tenth Season (1977-78)

Episode 215: Up The Rebels

At the USMC training site, a couple of Dodge pickups and a Jeep are seen. There is a scene where Father Daniel Costigan (Stephen boyd) meets Casey Fogarty (Elayne Heilveil), in which the vehicles parked include a 1977 Chevrolet pickup, a VW Bay Window Bus, a Datsun B210, a 1976 Honda Civic, and a Chevrolet Malibu Classic sedan. A 1977 Nova 4-door drives by, when Ms. Fogarty leaves a taxicab.

McGarrett goes to the Sea Crest Bungalow Court, and there is a stock shot of his Marquis, in which a 1962 Chevrolet station wagon and a VW Beetle are seen. When Ms. Fogarty picks up Father Daniel, a Porsche 911 is seen at a traffic intersection. Later, after Father Daniel delivers a suitcase, he and Ms. Fogarty are on the road, and a few VWs are seen, which include a 23 window Bus, a Beetle, and a Karmann Ghia. A stock shot of McGarrett's Park Lane is seen, and when he goes to a drawbridge, a VW Beetle is seen.

Episode 217: The Cop on the Cover

A Chevrolet van is used by the kidnappers, and the field where the van is parked also has a Mazda parked. When Stewart Longworth gets on a Bus, a Datsun 280Z is seen, and when the Bus is about to make a stop, a VW Beetle is seen in the background. Danno arrives at the ESTAA Building, and a VW Beetle is seen. Later, when Joe Moala (Moe Keale) is hiding on a boat, the vehicles seen at the dock include a Honda 1200 and a VW Beetle. When McGarrett approaches the boat, the vehicles seen in the background shot include a 1965-67 Dodge Coronet sedan, a Datsun pickup, and a Toyota Corolla. The second shot had a Dodge pickup seen, and a Cadillac limosuine. The final shot, in which McGarrett in on the deck, a Triumph TR6 is seen.

Episode 218: The Friends of Joey Kalima

When Joey visits Mama Topo, the vehicles parked in the front yard include a 1966 Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser, a Mazda, and a Plymouth Barracuda. On the street, a Land Rover is seen. Later, when Keoki Topo arrives at Joey Kalima's home, he drives a 1975 Chevrolet Caprice ragtop, and when he parks his ragtop on the street, a 1966/67 Dodge Charger is seen. In a later scene, in which McGarret has a conversation with Bernie Fryer, a 1973/74 Nova is seen in front of parked HPD squad cars. A Datsun 510 appears in a scene in which McGarrett and Joey are going to Marco's record store.

Episode 223: Deep Cover

McGarrett is in a 1973 Plymouth Fury III (a government vehicle), when he speaks with Danno, and in a later scene, when Harner shows up, a VW Bus is seen in the parking lot.

Episode 225: East Wind, Ill Wind

When Kati Parisa (Sian Barbara Allen) is fleeing from the beach, after Sandanarik is killed, a 1976 Cadillac Eldorado is seen. Later, at the funeral, a 1973 Cadillac limo is seen. The scene in which a cab escorts Helen Macy (Mary-Angela), a VW Bus and a 1975 Malibu Classic are seen. A Dodge van (used by Pacific Ambulance) is seen, when Charlie Davilo (Michael Durrell) makes his speech.

Episode 234: Invitation to a Murder

The car that runs off a cliff is a Jaguar XKE roadster, in which Lawrence Barlow is killed.

Note: in the movie, The Jerk (with Steve Martin), the footage of the XKE driving off a cliff was used in the scene where Carl Reiner made a joke about a pair of glasses that made him crosseyed.

Episode 236: My Friend, the Enemy

A 1976 Cadillac limosuine is used when Ms. Labella snaps a photo of an Arab princess. There is a scene in a parking lot, in which a 1972 Buick Skylark hardtop is seen. Ms. Labella drives a rented Toyota Corolla, and after the limo passes, a 1977 Mercedes 450SL is seen. The finale, in which a 1969-74 Ford Econoline van is used, had a few VWs seen, which include a Bug and two Buses.

Eleventh Season (1978-79)

Episode 243: Small Potatoes

When Johnny Noah (Richard Romanus) is about to leave in his Rolls-Royce, a couple of Cadillac limosuines (a 1975 and 76) are seen. A Dodge van is seen as an ambulance, when Noah is pulled from his Rolls. Later, at a motel, when Gloria (Zohra Lampert) arrives, a 1973 Pontiac Firebird is seen, in which she parks a Ford Fairmont station wagon. In another scene, in which McGarrett meets Noah on a boat, a 1970 Cadillac Sedan De Ville is seen, parked.

Episode 244: A Distant Thunder

Wendell Stoner's pickup is a 1970 Chevrolet C-10 stepside, with a bald treaded spare tire, and a 1977 Chevrolet van is seen in his garage. When Stoner misses Bobby Tamara Jr (in which the family dog is killed), a Honda Civic is seen on the street. Tamara addresses an audience on a UH campus, and when Stoner's van arrives (with his Nazi cohorts), a Toyota Corolla, 1976 Pontiac Grand Prix, and a 1972 Buick are seen in the background shot. Another Chevrolet van (a yellow one) is seen.

When Danno goes undercover, at when he is first seen at a gas station, the vehicles seen in traffic include a Datsun 280Z, and a VW Beetle. Stoner is washing windows, and when Danno calls an African-American a "nigga", the vehicles seen in the adjacent parking lot include a BMW, a 1967 Oldsmobile Cutlass hardtop, and a VW Rabbit. Danno and Stoner later show up at a Tamara fundraiser, a Rolls-Royce is seen, parked, next to a Lincoln Town Car. The Rolls-Royce is seen again, at a supermarket parking lot, parked next to a Rambler American. When Danno is escorted in Stoner's van, and when the driver makes an improper lane change, a Rambler station wagon and a 1977 Chevrolet Caprice Classic station wagon are seen.

Episode 255: Stringer

A 1974 Cadillac limosuine is seen, used by Tony Alika, and a 1973 Pontiac LeMans is seen, which later is wrecked and destroyed, after one of Alika's goons shoot out one of the tires. Later, in front of Tim "Stringer" Powers' (Paul Williams, well known as Big Enos in the Smokey and the Bandit movies) apartment, a 1973 Buick Riviera is seen in traffic. Howard Kramer is seen on the street, in which he hops into a rickshaw taxi, and the vehicles seen in the background shot include a 1971 Dodge Dart, a 1977 Monte Carlo, a VW Bay Window Bus, a 1978 Malibu station wagon, and a 1972 Buick Skylark. One of the parked cars seen is a 1966 Chevelle 4-door sedan.

Later, at the Ala Wai Canal, the parked cars seen (on Ala Wai Boulevard) include a 1973 Buick LeSabre, a VW Beetle Cabriolet, a 1972-79 VW Bus, a 1977 Toyota Corolla, and a 1971 AMC Gremiln. The cars that are seen driving include a 1975-78 Nova 2-door, a Mazda Cosmo, and a 1973 Cadillac. Danno and another HPD officer are condiction surveillance, and a VW Bay Window Bus is seen, When Danno pulls up to a street corner, a VW Rabbit, 1961-63 Buick Skylark, a 1968 Plymouth Valiant, and a 1971-77 Vega are seen in the background shot. Alika's hitmen are seen, parked in front of a phone booth, and the parked cars include a Plymouth Duster, and a 1970-73 Camaro. A 1971 Chevrolet Caprice is seen, which passes by.

Another scene in which Stringer flees from two HPD officers had a Dodge Aspen station wagon seen, along with a Chevette and a 1972 Buick LeSabre (seen in traffic). Stringer pulls the coil wire from a 1978 Ford LTD II, and a 1978 Camaro is seen, parked. When Stringer crosses the street, in which he catches a bus, a 1971 VW pickup, Datsun B210, a 1973-77 El Camino, a 1972 Caprice Classic sedan, and a 1976 Pontiac Firebird are seen in traffic. A 1977 Chevrolet C-30 chsssis cab is seen, as an ambulance, after Howard Kramer is found dead.

Episode 257: A Very Personal Matter

A Chevrolet chassis cab van is seen as an ambulance, when Tom Riordan's son is transported. In the next scene, at the Ilikai, Riordan speeds away, and a 1974-76 Cadillac Fleetwood is seen. Gerry Colby drives an MGB roadster, and the scene in the parking lot (of a country club) had a 1975 Buick Electra 225/Limited sedan, a 1966 Chevrolet Impala 4-door, a 1971 Dodge Dart, a 1978/79 Plymouth Volare coupe, and a 1955-57 VW Oval Window Beetle. One of the cars seen in the parking lot is a 1975/76 Ford Torino hardtop, with a white stripe, similar to the one used on Starsky and Hutch.

When Colby arrives at Dr. Danworth's yacht, a 1977 Toyota Corolla sedan is seen. Later, after Gerry's cover is blown, and she is walking with McGarrett, a VW Bus and a Subaru are seen in the background shot. Later, when McGarrett arrives at the Westside Clinic (in Danno's car), a 1973/74 Chevrolet pickup is seen. Later, when Riordan is at Danworth's yacht, a 1971/72 Chevrolet Impala sedan is seen. The finale at Danworth's apartment had a 1971 Dodge Dart 4-door seen, when McGarrett arrives.

Episode 258: The Skyline Killer

When the killer is on the street, the traffic scene on Ala Wai Boulevard had a 1973 Pontiac Grand Ville, a VW Karmann Ghia, and a Chevrolet station wagon seen. The next shot is inside a parking garage, and a 1974/75 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme is seen. When the killer appears in the next shot, a 1965 GM A-car is seen, and when the camera switches around, a VW Bus and a 1967-72 GMC puckup are seen. The killer is en route to a construction site, and when the cop car (an HPD unit) appears, a 1969 Pontiac LeMans is seen. There are two unmarked units seen, which include a 1977 Cougar and a 1977 Pontiac Grand Prix.
