THE HAWAII FIVE-O CARPAGE

This is the second section for Seasons 5-7, in which the same format used on the previous page follows over.

Fifth Season (1972-73)

Episode 97: Death is a Company Policy

After the opening sequence, there is a scene where Piro Manoa sets up a meeting, in which a late 50s Chrysler sedan is thrashed out at a disclosed location. A 1967 Cadillac Sedan De Ville pulls up, and the usual meeting takes place. There is a scene in which Runny Gross (Richard Morrison) pulls up to the Manoa residence in a 1965 Chevrolet Impala fastback hardtop. After Gross is killed, there is a scene with Ben Kokua and Angie Carroll, in which she hops into a taxicab, which was a 1962 Chevrolet Bel Air or Biscayne sedan.

John Manicote's assiatant, Chris Lahani (George Chakiris, well known as Bernardo in West Side Story), drives a 1972 Chevelle hardtop, and the car was used when Lahani drives on a deserted mountain road to meet Piro Manoa (Michael Ansara), in which both of them are killed by a gunman in a helicopter. There is one scene where he goes to visit Angie Caroll (Jo Pruden), only to be ordered by an HPD officer in which the witness is not to be seen. Lahani parks his Chevelle in front of a 1966 Chevy II hardtop.

Note: the Lincoln Continental used was the same "picture" car that was featured in several episodes.

Episode 98: Death Wish on Tantalus Mountain

There are two Pantera sports cars used (one of them is a red one), and the first one was destroyed (a yellow one) in a car crash. (Actually, the Pantera was not used, but the car that was destroyed was a Formula 1 racer, which was used in the title sequence). A Datsun 240Z was used in one scene, and a spoof occurs when the car spins its wheels on dirt, and a "screech" is heard. When the red Pantera is being inspected by SCCA tech inspectors, a 1971 Chevrolet stepside pickup is seen, as a tow vehicle for the red Pantera. Later, at the King's Alley Shopping Mart, the sidewalk that Angela Sortie (Diana Muldaur) is seen walking, a 1968 Chevrolet Impala is seen, along with a Chrysler E-bodied car (a Barracuda or a Challenger). Chin Ho and Ben are conducting surveillance, and this is when they apprehend Frank Brill (Steve Merrick) at his apartment, the man that received $10,000 from Angela, while being photographed at the King's Alley Shopping Mart. his car is a dark green 1970 Chevrolet Impala Custom hardtop, and when Chin Ho searches the car, the bloodied wrench (a murder weapon) was found under the back seat. The cop car that pulls up to the crime scene is a 1971 Chevrolet Bel Air (HPD unit #138, the picture car used from Season 5), and the scene where the squad car parks, a 1970 Oldsmobile F-85 2-door sedan is seen. A 1971 VW Super Beetle is parked on the street, adjacent to the Impala (the car that is searched).

Episode 101: The Jinn Who Clears The Way

The crime scene, in which Carl Tu (Danny Kamekona) is murdered, had a 1971 Chevrolet Bel Air (an HPD squad car), and the car that tails McGarrett's Park Lane is a Toyota.

Episode 102: Fools Die Twice

Jack Gulley's girl drives a 1970 Chevrolet Impala Custom hardtop, and in the scene on a deserted mountain road, a GMC step van (used by MDS delivery) is seen, when the driver is held at gunpoint. At the U.S. Army base, where a "botched" payroll heist takes place, the row of vehicles include the Five-O vehicles, a 1971 Chevrolet Bel Air sedan (HPD unit #138), and three U.S. Army MP vehicles, which include a 1972 Nova 4-door, and two Chevrolet stepside pickup trucks (a 1968 and 1969). This is where Gulley kidnaps a scientist, and stuffs him in the rear compartment of a 1971 Ford Country Sedan S/W.

Episode 103: Chain of Events

Linda Rynak's father (Lou Frizzel) drives a 1969 Impala 4-door sedan, and this is when he beats up Walter Clyman (Dirk Benedict), after he finds Linda's scrapbook.

Episode 104: Journey out of Limbo

When Danno is being escorted back home, and when the police car (a 1971 Chevrolet Bel Air, the picture car) stops at a light, in which Danno stares at a mannequin setup in a storefront window, he remembers what he has seen before he jumped into the back of a dump truck.

Episode 105: "V" for Vashon: the Son

Chris Vashon drives a Mercedes convertible, and the Benz was seen at the Honore Vashon's home and in front of Kwan's (Galen Kam) Pawn Shop, in which Tosaki (Kwan Hi Lim) hops in (a VW Super Beetle is seen in the background). There is a scene in front of an antique shop (next to Cost Less Imports), in which Chin Ho serves a warrant, in which Ben parks behind a 1967 Pontiac Firebird ragtop. A 1964 Plymouth Barracuda is seen in traffic. When Danno leaves Besserides (Moki Palacio) Pawn Shop, located at Nuuanu at Hotel Street, a VW Type III is seen at the stoplight. When the camera switches back to the antique shop where Chin Ho is done serving a warrant, a 1972 Chevelle station wagon is seen in traffic.

The scene in the Kalakaua Hotel alley had a 1971 Chevelle 4-door as an unmarked police car, when Chris Vashon hops into a 1972 Ford station wagon. Later, at the Vashon residence, the Chevelle can be seen at the end of the episode, if you look carefully in the background behind McGarrett and Danno.

Note: various stock shots are used, like McGarrett hopping into the Park Lane (Episode 15), and a stock shot of a police car and McGarrett's Park Lane (nighttime shots).

Episode 106: "V" for Vashon: the Father

Tosaki is seen in a 1971 Lincoln Continental (a picture car), and when Dylan Heyward (Don Knight) arrives at Honolulu International Airport, and takes a cab (a beige 1972 Chevelle 4-door hardtop sedan) to a phone booth, the parking lot in which Tosaki is calling from had a couple of Chevelle sedans parked. When McGarrett calls two HPD officers (in this scene, a VW 23-window Bus is seen) to request the bomb squad (2305 Ala Wai Blvd.), a 1971 Chevrolet Bel Air police car (HPD unit #137) is seen (which is the picture car in later seasons). A 1965 Pontiac Bonneville is parked adjacent to McGarrett's Park Lane in this scene. When the bomb is disarmed (under the hood of the Park Lane), a 1969 Dodge Charger is seen, along with a 1972 Nova.

The scene where McGarrett is waiting for a cab at the Aloha Tower, the taxicabs used are 1971 Chevelle four-door hardtop sedans. John Manicote hops into a green and white Chevelle, and McGarrett lets the cabbie leave (the one in the beige cab; the Chevelle used in this scene is later seen when Dylan Hayward is seen in front of the Aloha Tower). McGarrett hops into a ivory and white Chevelle, and the next scene in which he hops into a 1972 Ford Custom 500 (lic# X-9404), a 1970-73 Camaro is seen making a left turn.

Episode 107: "V" for Vashon: the Patriarch

After McGarrett is convicted of second degree murder, the scene where he goes to a disclosed location, a 1970 Impala hardtop (lic # 2W-4558) is seen, and McGarrett, with Danno, Chin Ho, Ben Kokua, and John Manicote, are meeting at the disclosed place. A 1965 Chevrolet Impala fastback hardtop is seen in the background. (Check out the Panama Jack that McGarrett wears!) When Ben questions Joey Akkuda (David "Lippy" Espinda), a couple of Oldsmobile Cutlass hardtop coupes are seen, which are unmarked HPD vehicles. The hardtops seen are a 1971 and a 1968 (the 68 is used previously in Episode 29). The scene in front of Bobby Railsbeck apartment had a 1968 VW Beetle and a 1968-71 Bay Window Bus parked on the street.

Episode 108: The Clock Struck Twelve

The scene where an attorney (an HPD plainclothes cop) gets out of a Bernie's Cab, a 1968 Chevelle 4-door hardtop sedan is seen, and a Dodge Dart sedan. In the courthouse parking lot, there is a scene in which Danno and Ben enter the courthouse to locate the bombs, and a diversion is set when a 1960 Chevrolet Bel Air sedan wrecks a power box. When the bombs are disarmed, the HPD cop cars that are parked outside the courthouse are three 1971 Chevrolet Bel Airs. Four of them are seen in this episode, and one of them that escorts McGarrett's unit is the picture car.

Note: the 1971 Lincoln Continental (the governor's car) used in this episode was previously seen in Episode 82: Rest In Peace: Somebody.

Episode 109: I'm A Family Crook - Don't Shoot!

In the beginning of the episode, Arnold Lovejoy (Andy Griffith, in his only Five-O guest appearance) drives a 1972 Dodge Dart sedan. (Speaking of Chrysler vehicles, the Lovejoys scam a priest in which they sell his 1968 Plymouth Fury III to a used car lot, and in a later scene, a 1972 Dodge Coronet is used as a taxicab.) The courtroom parking lot had a 1971 Buick Electra sedan, a 1971 Pontiac LeMans hardtop, and a mid sixties Rambler sedan. After the intended victim (a woman in red) leaves, a 1964 Cadillac Coupe De Ville is seen driving on the street. When the Lovejoys return to their hotel (after McGarrett lets them go), a Checker sedan parked in the parking lot.

There is a slide show in which McGarrett view slides of Frank Bitrell and Charlie Walters (Bryan da Silva and Bob Basso), and the cars in the following snapshots include a 1971 Chevelle and Chevrolet Impala station wagon (in which Frank Bitrell is seen), and one pose of Charlie Walters in front of a 1966 Chevrolet pickup and a 1963 Chevy II sedan, with what appears to be a Volvo sedan parked next to the Chevy II. The limosuines (typical with mobsters and Mack Daddies) that Charlie Walters and his goons use are a couple of Cadillacs, which include a 1970 and 1972 Fleetwood.

Later, on the street, the Lovejoys are on the street, in which Arnold Lovejoy poses as a police officer, and the vehicles seen in the phone booth scene include a 1970 Nova SS. This is where Frank Bitrell walks down the street, with a suitcase with $100,000 and a pocketbook in it, and the scene where he walks down the street, a couple of VW Beetles are seen. This is where Shibata (Seth Sakai) and his goons (Harold "Oddjob" Sakata and Moe Keale) keep an eye on Frank Bitrell, and the car that was used was a 1971 Lincoln Continental (lic# 9C-3332, the picture car). Other vehicles seen in this segment where Melissa Lovejoy (Kimberly Louis) snatch Frank's suitcase include a 1971 Buick Skylark hardtop, and a Chrysler A-body hardtop coupe.

The vehicles that are used by HPD undercover cops include a Chevrolet stepside pickup (1969-72 vintage), and the final scene in which the Walters estate is raided, five 1971 Chevrolet Bel Airs, which are HPD squad cars, are seen. One of the cars had unit #136 on the rear decklid.

Episode 110: The Child Stealers

The car that Gar (Richard Lawrence Hatch) and Nina (Meg Foster) is a 1961 Chevrolet Impala (Lic # E-4978). When they arrive at Honolulu International Airport, a 1970 Chevrolet Impala is in the background shot, and a 1971 Chevelle is used as a taxicab.

The crime scene, which McGarrett pulls up, had a 1970 Chevrolet Impala hardtop sedan parked in the parking lot. When he hops onto a plane to L.A., a 1969 Plymouth Belvedere is used as a taxicab, where McGarrett arrives at a California adoption agency run by the sleazy Eugene Goodman (Richard Anderson). Later, at the Speedoprint printing compant, a Chevy II and what appears to be a front nose of a 1964 Chevrolet Impala is seen.

The final scene in which Gar and Nina stage another kidnapping (after a cop car passes by, which was a 1971 Chevrolet Bel Air, unit #135) had a few cars parked in the neighborhood (like a VW Cabriolet), and the scene where Nina walks down the sidewalk, a 1970 Chevrolet Biscayne station wagon is seen. The car that is used by Gar and Nina is a 1965 Plymouth Belvedere sedan, which is parked next to a carport that has a 1969 Camaro parked.

Episode 111: Thanks for the Honeymoon

There is a scene in which Toni (Patty Duke) and Marty (Larry Kent) are in a 1969 Plymouth Fury III sedan, when she witnesses Manola comitting a murder (the same place where A Thousand Pardons - You're Dead! was filmed). The church scene had a 1971 Chevrolet Bel Air squad car, which was used in previous episodes. The background shot had a oval window VW Beetle parked in the background.

The finale of the episode had Manola arriving in a 1972 Cadillac Sedan De Ville, in which he was finally booked.

Episode 112: The Listener

A red 1967 Cadillac DeVille convertible is used, by Eric Fowler (Robert Foxworth). In one scene, Duke (after the scene in which McGarrett told Duke about his traffic days) pulls over Fowler, and he drives a 1971 Chevrolet Bel Air, which is the marked police car (used by HPD) that was featured in later episodes. The background shot had a 1967 Chevrolet Impala fastback hardtop, and a VW Type III Squareback station wagon parked. After Duke passes the "wire" with a message, a 1969/70 Pontiac hardtop is seen in the parking lot, when Fowler's Caddy leaves the scene. The health club scene, in which Fowler pulls into the parking lot, had another Cadillac ragtop, which was a 1971 Eldorado.

Later, at the Bank of Hawaii (on Kilauea Avenue), when Fowler parks his Caddy, a VW Type III passes by, and in the parking lot adjacent to the bank, where Danno and Che Fong are conducting surveillance, a 1969 Chevrolet C10 stepside pickup and a mid sixties Vette are parked. Chin Ho and Ben are in a 1972 Ford LTD, and when they pull out, a 1972 Nova 4-door passes by. When Fowler is on the highway, the traffic scene had a couple of VW Buses, and a Beetle, along with a Chevy II hardtop. The marked HPD unit (#110), a 1971 Chevrolet Bel Air, was one of the vehicles used in the surveillance of the "drop" of $10,000. An early 70s Cadillac Commercial vehicle is used as an ambulance, after a woman commits suicide from jumping out of a high rise.

When Cerebrus is finally captured, at the Kahala Mall, a couple of Chevrolet pickups and a van are seen when an HPD unit (a 1971 Chevrolet Bel Air, #110) pulls up into the parking lot. When Cerebrus is in a phone booth, a 1969 Chevelle 2-door hardtop is seen, parked in front of the phone booth. The postal vehicle (unknown of the make, possibly an AM General), with the electronics evidence, was parked in a parking lot (on the second level)with some other vehicles, which include three VW Beetles and a Type III, a Datsun 510/Bluebird, and a Plymouth Barracuda. The scene in which Cerebrus hops over a wall had a 1963 Pontiac sedan parked.

Episode 115: Will the Real Mr. Winkler Please Die?

The main character (Nehemiah Persoff) walks out of a building, and the scene in which he assults a news anchor, a Chevrolet 60 series rig is seen, along with a Corvette and a 1971 Cadillac Eldorado coupe. Winkler drives a 1972 Chevelle 4-door hardtop sedan, which was later used in Episode 125: The Sunday Torch. In one scene, a Dodge van is used as an ambulance, and Mr. Winkler is escorted in an International (sport) utility vehicle to his store. At his store, in the mirror reflection, a second generation VW Bus and a Plymouth Duster hardtop coupe are seen. The parking lot where McGarrett and Chin Ho are parked outside Winkler's store (the same one in Episode 8) had a VW Type III Fastback parked, and a 1967 Pontiac limosuine, used by Trade Wind Tours, stop in front of Winkler's store.

Note: a black 1973 Mercury Marquis is seen, which is later McGarrett's car in the 1974-75 season (see Episode 148). A 1974 Marquis is used from the 1975-80 season.

Episode 116: Little Girl Blue

The scene where Ron Feinberg and Jackie Coogan are pulled over (driving a 1960 Ford Customline sedan) has a 1972 Chevelle hardtop that pulls out after Ron Feinberg kills the cop. The cop car used in the scene was a 1970 Ford Custom 500, and in another shot, the squad car was a 1971 Chevrolet Bel Air.

Episode 118: Engaged To Be Buried

Rono Hidalgo (Erik Estrada, "Poncharello" of CHiPs fame, in his TV debut) drives a black 1969 Cadillac DeVille ragtop, and in another scene, where another car bomb is planted, a 1962 Oldsmoblie is used, which later crashes into a 1963 Ford Falcon (in which Carol Simpson is incinerated). When Alia Kelly (Irene Tsu) is picked up by two HPD uniformed officers, a 1971 Chevrolet Bel Air is used.

Episode 120: Jury of One

The scene in which the camera zooms toward the courthouse, a 1969 Chevrolet Impala is seen in a parked row of cars. In a later scene, in which McGarrett pulls into the Iolani Palace parking lot, a VW Beetle Cabriolet ragtop is seen, and Duke pulls up in a 1971 Chevrolet Impala hardtop sedan. When the jury deliberates in one scene, a 1963 Ford (an HPD unit) passes by.

Sixth Season (1973-74)

Episode 121: Hookman

After the scene in the cemetery, in which Curt Stoner (Jay J. Armes) has a guitar case with an M1 Carbine, a 1972 Cadillac is seen at a stoplight, and the funeral procession that is seen had Keoki on an HPD Harley, and the hearse is a 1963 Pontiac Commerical. After Keoki is killed, a 1973 Chevrolet Monte Carlo is seen, and the hearse crashes into a 1964 Chevrolet Impala station wagon. The funeral procession scene had a scene in which a 1963 Chevy II station wagon, a Datsun 240Z, and a 1973 Dodge Coronet are seen.

This is the first episode in which a 1973 Ford Custom 500 is used (lic # X-9404), and the crime scene, in which a shootout occurs, and the HPD squad cars include a 1963 Ford Customline (an HPD unit) is seen, along with a 1971 Chevrolet Bel Air (HPD unit #112, which was used earlier at the crime scene in which Keoki was killed), and a 1970 Ford Custom 500. A 1972 Cadillac Commercial is seen when Danno and Chin Ho show up at the scene, and in one background shot, in which Danno and Chin are taking cover behind the 1963 Ford, an MGB ragtop is seen.

Note: There is a chase scene in which McGarrett is in hot pursuit of a green 1968 Mustang, and the camera shot inside the Park Lane was real unique at the time, before "COPS" ever aired on FOX Television. The Mustang was later found in the water, and hopefully, the car should have been restored.

Episode 122: Draw Me A Killer

In the prologue, when the first victim is killed, Arthur (Elliot Street) hops into a company vehicle used by Verna's Grooming Parlor, a 1971 Chevrolet G-series 1/2 ton van, and the cars that are seen in this segment are a 1971 Plymouth Satellite sedan, a Toyota, a 60s Volvo, a Chevrolet Vega, and a 1972 Nova. After he kills Ho Toy (Clement Low), the cars that are in a traffic scene include a 1964 Chevelle 4-door, and a Buick Wildcat. There is a scene in which Arthur goes to a burger joint, and when he parks the van, a couple of Chrysler vehicles are seen, which include a 1970 Plymouth Satellite station wagon (with woodie panels), and a 1970 Dodge Dart. When Arthur follows Mary Ellen Farmer (Susan Foster, the woman that resembles Judy Moon), a 1964 Oldsmobile F-85 sedan is seen, along with a 1963 Chevy II, and a 1962 Impala. There is a scene in which Arthur snatches a phone book, in which a 1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme hardtop is seen, and when he gets in the Chevy Van, a 1967 Chevelle in seen in the background shot.

One scene (after Gerald Lott, an attorney is killed) had a Cadillac Commercial vehicle, used as an ambulance, and in front of HPD central headquarters, the squad cars parked include a lot of HPD squad cars, primarily Fords, which include a majority of 1970-72 Custom 500s, along with one 1971 Chevrolet Bel Air. The scene in which Arthur was stalking the Judy Moon look-a-like in the HPD parking lot, and the cars seen in the parking lot include a Datsun, a Nash Metropolitan, a 1970 Pontiac full size, a couple of VW Beetles, a 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado, and a couple of Dodges, a 1972 Charger and a 1964 Dart sedan. The Judy Moon look-a-like drives an MGB ragtop when she parks her car. When Arthur flees, the background shot includes a late 60s/early 70s VW Bus, a 1963 Chevy II hardtop, and a 1970 Pontiac Firebird, and on the street, a 1973 Chevelle 4-door swerves in a traffic scene. The adjacent parking lot had a 1970 Plymouth Duster, a 1971 Camaro, a 1969 Chevelle SS 396, and a 1968 Chevrolet Impala.

When Danno (in an HPD uniform) walks down the street, the background shots had a 1970 Buick Electra, another Dodge Dart sedan (possibly a 1969/70), a 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air, and a 1964 Chevrolet Impala station wagon, which had its right front tire shot during the gunfight. One background shot of Danno in an alley had a Rambler American seen behind him.

Episode 123: Charter for Death

The scene at the beach, where the lifeboat (from the Marie Celine) is found, a 1966 Chevrolet El Camino is seen, and the ambulance at the scene is a Cadillac Commercial. A later scene, at the Rose Theater on Mauna Kea Street, a 1966 Chevrolet stepside pickup drives by, and later, when Tamaki (Nephi Hanneman) arrives, a 1955 Chevrolet is seen, parked on the side of the street. A couple of HPD squad cars that arrive when Tamaki is under a "Terry" stop are 1971 Chevrolet Bel Airs, unit #s 110 and 133.

Episode 124: One Big Happy Family

The parking lot of the restaurant in which the two members of a Southern family (Bo Hopkins and the late Slim Pickens) had a 1971-73 Chevrolet station wagon and a 1973 Nova. The crime scene (at the same location) had a 1972 Dodge van (used by the HPD Mobile Crime Unit) and a Cadillac Commercial vehicle. The next crime scene (a gas station) had a Cadillac Commercial vehicle, and a 1972 Pontiac Lemans hardtop on the street, when a Five-O car pulls up (a 1973 Ford Custom 500). Later, on the Big Island, there is a scene with Monica (Lynette Kim) in front of a Toyota dealer, a 1964 Dodge/Plymouth Valiant sedan is seen, along with a 1972 Chevelle 4-door hardtop. There are two 1971 Chevrolet Bel Air squad cars, unit #s 111 and 138, which had the "Honolulu" taped up, that might confused many that the filming was in either Maui or on the Big Island.

Episode 125: The Sunday Torch

Marty Portobas' (Kwan Hi Lim) car is a 1971 Chevrolet Impala 4-door hardtop sedan, and this car was used previously in Episode 120: Jury of One. Stock shots of HPD cop cars used, and include the 1971 Chevrolet Bel Air (HPD unit #136). One scene had a fire truck driving down the street, and the vehicles that drive through are an Oldsmobile Cutlass hardtop or 1970-71 vintage, and a VW Beetle. A 1972 Pontiac LeMans 2-door pillared sedan is seen parked. At Klepper's medical warehouse, there are two Chevrolets parked, which include a 1965 Impala and a 1956 150/210 sedan, in which stolen merchandise was found in the shoebox's trunk. After Stokely (Michael Anderson, Jr.) is on the street, walking down a sidewalk, a 1959 Chevrolet and a 1968-70 Dodge Coronet 4-door are seen in the traffic background, and the undercover cop that arrests Stokely drives a 1969 Mercury Marquis 4-door hardtop sedan.

At the end of the episode, Porter (Tom Simcox) drives a 1972 Chevelle 4-door hardtop sedan (the car is referred as a compact, but a Chevelle does not look like one; notice the "Malibu" emblem on the fender!). The highway that Porter drives down had a VW Beetle in front of him, and when the scene switches, a fire truck passes a Dodge pickup.

Note: the scene in which a fire is burning out of control (with the fire hydrant and firefighters in one scene) is later used as stock footage in the movie Earthquake.

Episode 126: Murder is a Taxing Affair

The rogue IRS investigator, Jonathan Cavel (Don Porter) evades McGarrett and Danno, and in a scene at the Holiday Inn parking lot, he goes to a valet parking key locker, and finds the keys to a 1964 Chevrolet Impala station wagon, and drives off. McGarrett refers to the car as a 1962 station wagon (a silly spoof!) when he calls central dispatch. There is a scene, where Will and Betty Rowan (Jack Dodson and Sally Kirkland) try to get a cab, the taxicabs used are 1972 Buick Skylark 4-door sedans. This is when Cavel (Don Porter) captures the Rowans, and heads off to a deserted road located near Diamond Head. The finale had two HPD squad cars on the scene, which include a 1971 Chevrolet Bel Air and a 1970 Ford Custom 500.

Episode 127: Tricks Are Not Treats

The kid that kills a "Mack Daddy" in his Caddy hops into a VW bug.

Episode 129: Flash of Color, Flash of Death

There is a scene in which Jeffrey Hobbs (Don Knight) goes out of Haggai's (Kenneth Ing) gem exchange, and a 1965 Chevrolet Impala fastback hardtop is seen in traffic, and this is when he sees a white 1971 Ford LTD used as a getaway vehicle, and in the background shot, a 1972 Pontiac LeMans and 1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass are seen. The trafic sequence included a Datsun Z-car, a 1966 Chevy II, a VW Beetle, and a 1972 Plymouth Duster. Later, when Hobbs tracks down the license plate number (N3-625) of the LTD, it was actually registered to a kid that owns a early sixties VW Beetle. There is a scene in which Jake Willis (Robert Basso, Episode 109) is tailed, and the scene in which Hobbs (in a Ford Fairlane) pulls into the Hawaiian Towers off Ala Wai Blvd, a 1971 Camaro and a VW Beetle are seen, and coincidentally, he parks next to a VW Beetle! When Hobbs confronts Jake, he meets an untimely demise, and the vehicles seen include a VW Karmann Ghia, two VW Buses (a 21 window and a 1968 Bay Window), and a 1963 Cadillac DeVille ragtop. When Hobbs goes into Webber's (Al Avalon) apartment, there is a scene in which he peeks out the window the second time, and a 1970-72 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Holiday Coupe is seen, when Ben Kokua is parked outside.

Note: the "picture car", a 1973 Mercury Marquis, used in Episode 115, was used again, but in this case, as Hoffmeyer's (George Herman, as an antique dealer) car.

Episode 130: A Bullet for El Diablo

At the University of Hawaii - Manoa Campus, the two Latino kidnappers use a 1973 VW Bus when they kidnap Maria Ramos (Edith Diaz, in dual roles). A later scene in which Maria is in the bus, a 1963 Chevy II is seen, and the kidnappers switch cars, in which a 1962 Chevrolet Biscayne sedan is used. When Ramos (a.k.a. El Diablo) arrives at Honolulu Internatoinal Airport, a 1972 Cadillac limosuine is used to escort him and his entourage to the Ilikai. In a later scene, Felipe Ortega (Bryan Da Silva) pulls up in a 1972 Chevrolet Nova, and drops off the ransom money into a moving boat. When Rita Salazar (the impostor) is at a phone booth, the traffic scene includes a 1970 Cadillac Sedan De Ville (as a taxicab), and a VW Beetle "pickup" conversion. When McGarrett speaks to Ortega for the last time, a 1969 Buick LeSabre is seen in the background shot (behind Ortega).

A couple of "picture" cars are used, which include a 1971 Chevrolet Bel Air, HPD #112, and the governor's car, a 1973 Lincoln Continental (previously seen in Episode 129).

Episode 131: The Finishing Touch

The crime scene (at Sakai's printing shop) had a 1972 Dodge van used by the HPD Mobile Crime Unit. Olivia Hillis (Linda Ryan) drives a Datsun station wagon, and the vehicles seen include a 1968 Plymouth Fury III, a postal vehicle, which is an AM General, and a 1973 Dodge van. The phone booth scene had a second generation VW Bus at a stoplight, and in the final scene, when Norman Cargill (George Voskovec) is arrested, a 1971 Chevrolet Bel Air (HPD # 435) is seen.  

Note: the forged bonds had a maturation date, which read: MATURES 1985.

Episode 133: Try to Die on Time

The crime scene in which Harry Foxton (Jack Carter) is killed had a 1973 Cadillac Commercial vehicle, and the van used for the electronic eavesdropping is a Chevrolet Step Van (license # 72-351). At the end, the van is found, and McBain (Fred Beir) was the mastermind. The 1973 Lincoln Continental (the picture car, lic # 8E-5800) is seen, and various stock shots are used, which includes one scene with a 1971 Ford Custom 500, and when the Five-O team arrives at Listie's (Eddie Sherman) apartment, a 1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Holiday Coupe is seen in the row of parked cars when the Five-O vehicles are seen.

Episode 134: The $100,000 Nickel

The governor's motorcade includes a 1973 Lincoln Continental and two HPD Harleys, and the Lincoln used was seen in Episode 130: A Bullet for El Diablo. There is a stock shot of an HPD squad driving down a service road (taken from Episode 112), and the car that Arnie Price (Eugene Troobnick) use is a 1963 Buick LeSabre sedan. There is a scene in which Eric Damien (Victor Buono) gets out of his car (a 1964 Lincoln Continental), a 1966 Chevrolet Caprice 2-door hardtop is seen in the background shot.

Episode 135: The Flip Side is Death

The military vehicles used include two WWII era Jeeps, and a 1947 Chevrolet flatbed truck. The scene in which the truck rolls over, a 1966 Chevrolet Caprice sedan and a 1968 Plymouth Fury III are seen in the parking lot. An HPD squad car, a 1971 Chevrolet Bel Air, unit #137, arrives on the scene. When the military escort arrives in an earlier scene, a 1956 Chevrolet Nomad wagon is seen, and later seen at the roadblock, when a Dodge panel delivery (the pineapple truck, lic# B6-398) shows up in the next scene.

The crime scene, in which the military commander arrives, had a 1968 Plymouth Valiant 4-door parked. In subsequent scenes, a Cadillac Commercial (an ambulance) is used when Lou Pahia (Frank Liu) is killed, and in a later scene when Keao, the driver of the pineapple delivery vehicle (Gerald Waialae) is killed.

Episode 136: Banzai Pipeline

A 1973 Buick Rivera (the one with the "boattail") is driven by Oswald Greggs (Robert Basso), and when he is driving down the street, a 1968 Plymouth Belvedere sedan is seen. Later, Ric McDivitt (Perry King) drives a beat-up 1966 Chevelle station wagon in this episode, after he lifts Edward J. Huffman's wallet from his coat pocket (on the driver seat of his 1973 Lincoln Continental). Subsequently, Andrew Koa (Rudy Diaz) was almost run over, but ends up in the slammer.

Later, when Ric uses one of Huffman's credit cards, there is a scene in which an HPD officer gets into a 1971 Chevrolet Bel Air (#136). One of the scenes with Tanner asking local surfers on Oahu's North Shore included a street scene in which he exits a restaurant, and a Toyota Corolla, a 1970-73 Camaro, a 1970 Chevelle 2-door hardtop (later used in a shopping center parking lot, in which Ric McDivitt purchases a camera lens), a 1972 Dodge Charger, and a 1963 Chevy II are seen driving down the street. In the final scene, a Mustang is used, and does not survive.

Episode 138: Secret Witness

The parking lot where Joe Wang is killed by Bo Lansing (Mark Gordon), a 1966 Chevy II 4-door and a 1970 Dodge Coronet sedan are seen in the parking lot, when Ted Reynolds (Mark Jenkins) witnesses the hit, and when he flees, the carport that he passes had a 1970 AMC Hornet station wagon, a mid sixties Rambler American, and a Ford Falcon sedan. When the camera angles switch, a 1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass is seen. At the crime scene, a 1973 Cadillac Commercial is seen, but this time, as a hearse.

Later, at Jenkin's apartment, when Five-O and HPD arrive on the scene, a 1972 Chevrolet Impala sedan (parked in front of Tanaka's house) and a 1970 Pontiac Tempest are seen, and this is when McGarrett orders Ben for a lug wrench, in which the left front rim of the 1964 Lincoln Continental (lic #4B-2322) was unscrewed. One shot had the hubcap on, and later, when the car moves, the LF rim had the hubcap missing! (Don't do this to someone that you hate!!!!!!!!!!)

Episode 139: Death with Father

The flatbed truck used in the beginning was a 1947-49 Chevrolet, and when the truck flees, a 1963 Ford Customline (an HPD unit) is sideswiped, and crashes into a 1973 Custom 500 (an HPD unit). A 1971 Chevrolet Bel Air is seen with the two Fords used by HPD. The yacht harbor (where Cliff Morgan stays) in which McGarrett pulls into had a 1970-72 Buick Skylark 2-door hardtop parked in the parking lot. Morgan (Andrew Duggan, since his wretched role in Episode 53: The Ransom) drives a 1970 Chevelle Concours Estate station wagon (with woodie panels), and there is a scene in which his son, Tom (Peter Strauss) is at the War Memorial Natatorium, a 1971-73 Chevrolet Beauville van and a couple of VW Buses (second generation Bay Windows) are seen in the parking lot, along with a 1969 Cadillac limosuine. (Jack Lord's directorial debut!)

Episode 140: Murder with a Golden Touch

A 1964 Chevrolet station wagon is seen (a "picture car"), in which Henry Mott is at Geodetic Surveys, in which he goes undercover. He is killed, and the station wagon does not survive. The scene in which Fleming (James J. Sloyan) and Boyle (James Davidson) are found dead, and brought ashore, a Cadillac Commercial is seen, as a hearse.

Episode 141: Nightmare In Blue

In this episode, the rapist cop Walter Stark (John Beck) drives a 1965 Buick LeSabre, which is an unmarked car.

Episode 142: Mother's Deadly Helper

The parking lot of the courthouse in which Cord McKenzie (Anthony Zerbe, well known to Bond-o-philes as Milton Krest in the movie Licence To Kill, and Matthias in The Omega Man) parks his car, a 1965 Buick Skylark 4-door (with a rusted out trunk and left door) had a few vehicles parked, which include a 1967 Chevelle 2-door hardtop, a 1964 Dodge Dart, an early 70s Camaro, a 1966 Caprice hardtop sedan, and a Plymouth Barracuda, parked next to a 1967 VW Beetle. This is where the defendant that is acquitted is killed by a .44-40 rifle. The ambulance that hauls off the victim is a 1972 Cadillac Commercial.

When McGarrett is on the second level of a parking lot (where V for Vashon: The Father was filmed), a 1971 Chevrolet Impala 4-door hardtop sedan is seen. Later, at Oahu State Prison, where a rapist is paroled, a 1968 Chevrolet Impala Custom hardtop is seen, when McKenzie is in the parking lot. A 1971 Chevrolet station wagon, used by HPD, is seen in the background, along with a mid sixties Vette.

The scene in which McGarrett goes to a phone booth to await further instructions from McKenzie, the scene switches to a parking lot, in which Ben and Chin Ho wait for a Hawaii taxicab, in which the cab driver and Ben Kokua switch places. The taxicab used is a 1972 Pontiac Safari station wagon, and the background shot in the parking lot includes a 1969 Chevelle 2-door hardtop, and the adjacent side where Chin and Ben are parked, a 1969 Buick Skylark 2-door hardtop and a 1968/69 Chevelle 4-door hardtop sedan are seen. A 1969 Camaro RS is seen (in the background) when the cabbie gets out.

Later, at the Jollyland amusement arcade off Hotel Street, 1969 Plymouth Fury III hardtop sedan (a taxicab) is seen driving down Hotel Street. In a later scene, in which Cord McKenzie is finally arrested, a 1969-72 Pontiac LeMans 2-door hardtop and a VW Bus are seen driving in traffic. When McKenzie tries to flee down an alley, a 1968 Chevelle station wagon is seen in the background.

Note: Remi Abellaira, seen in Episode 42: Blind Tiger, is the teen that is playing one of the arcade machines, in which he gets a quarter from McKenzie, in which he says "Compliments of Jollyland."

Episode 143: Killer At Sea

The first scene in which Vincent Gordon (Keene Curtis) goes to withdraw money (at the Oahu National Bank), a Datsun 240Z is seen, and when the car used (a 1973 Marquis) is parked, a 1973 Cadillac Coupe De Ville is seen in the background. The vehicles that are seen in traffic include a VW Beetle, an Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser, and a Datsun pickup. A Buick Wildcat (at a traffic light) is seen when Gordon makes his second stop.

The cop cars that are at the port include a couple of 1971 Chevrolet Bel Airs, and a stock footage shot (with unit #136) is seen. At the end of the episode, a 1974 Chevrolet Caprice 2-door is used to haul Fallon (William Devane, of Knots Landing fame) into custody, by the San Francisco P.D.

Seventh Season (1974-75)

Episode 145: The Young Assassins

The scene in which Mike (Larry Wilcox, well known as Jon Baker on CHiPs) flees after killing a tourist had a 1973 Cadillac parked on the street, when he hops into a Ford Falcon. Later, when the PAG goes to a shopping mall, the parking lot scene, in which the terrorist's Falcon pulls in, had several vehicles parked, and they include a few Chevy IIs, a 1962-64 and a 1966, all of them 2-door hardtops, a Chevelle station wagon, a Datsun 510, a 1968 Chevelle 4-door sedan, and a 1972 Pontiac Lemans. There are some other vehicles of interest, like a few Chevrolet pickups, which include a 1968 C-10 and a orange and red 1974 Custom Deluxe. (A Chevrolet G-series van is seen in the background shot.) A few Chevrolet full size cars are seen, and they include a 1965-68 full size station wagon, a 1969 Impala, and a 1963/64 Impala 2-door hardtop. A few VWs are seen, and they include two 1972 Buses, and a Karmann Ghia (later used in another scene at the gas station where Ben is conducting surveillance), used in the background shot when the young member of the PAG is being initiated, after bumpin' into a gentleman with a $38.00 clock in a shopping bag. One noticable scene is that after the botched murder attempt on the intended victim, the Falcon flees, and a Datsun Z-car is seen, after it backs out.

Later, at a gas station, when Ben is conducting surveillance, a 1966 Chevrolet is seen across the street. When Nick (Danny Kamekona) is undercover, and tails Vera, who drives a 1966 Ford Galaxie hardtop sedan, a Dodge Dart is seen in the traffic sequence. Later, at a traffic intersection, a 1969 Buick Electra 225 and a 1971 Monte Carlo are seen, when Nick flashed his shield. A spoof occurs, in which the Ford sedan that crashes and burns is a 1967 Custom sedan!

The Civil Defense vehicles used in a few scenes are 1966 Chevrolet Commercial vehicles, and in a later scene in which the PAG vehicle, a Ford Econoline van, drives down the street, a 1966/67 Chevelle 2-door hardtop is seen.

Episode 146: A Hawaiian Nightmare

Bernie Brown (James Olson, previous seen in Episode 87) uses a Mazda pickup, and at his house, he has a Mercedes-Benz 300SL roadster parked in the driveway. In a later scene, when McGarrett arrives in a Hughes (now McDonnell-Douglas) 500 helicopter, there are two first generation VW Buses and a Bug parked on the street, in which McGarrett locates a garage door opener in the Benz.

When McGarrett and the Governor arrive at the Hawaii Volcanoes Observatory, there are four vehicles used by the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, and they include a 1970 AMC Matador, and a 1973 Plymouth Fury III, both of them, with roof lights and door shields. A 1973 Plymouth Satellite 2-door hardtop and a 1971 Dodge Coronet are seen next to the observatory vehicles. When another scene takes place at the headquarters of the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, a 1971 Dodge pickup and a 1971 Chevelle Nomad wagon are seen in the parking lot. The scene at an old sugar mill had a 1973 Chevrolet Caprice sedan at the crime scene, where Brown is killed by Vince (Felice Orlandi), and a 1966 Chevrolet Commercial is seen. The concluding scenes with the U.S. Army demolition team had a diesel rig, and a Ford M151 Jeep.

Episode 147: I'll Kill' Em Again

The scene in which Eddie Josephs (Danny Goldman) picks up Bernie Fortuna (David "Lippy" Espinda) a wino, had a 1968/69 Buick Skylark parked across the street. After the wino is killed, a late sixies Chevrolet van, used by the HPD mobile crime unit, and a Cadillac Commercial are seen. In a later scene, where Eddie leaves, and avoids Mr. Beecham, the bookstore owner, he uses a 1967 Ford Custom 500, and the scene in which he leaves had an early 70s Vega Kammback seen on the street, and when he makes a left turn, a 1972 Chevelle hardtop, a VW Type III, and a 1962 Cadillac Coupe De Ville are seen, and this is when he stages another killing, this time, an HPD uniformed officer (in a 1973 Ford Custom 500). Eddie pulls up to a red light, and in the background shot, a 1974 Cadillac is seen, and the parking lot adjacent to the traffic intersection had a 1970 Chevelle and a 1970 Cadillac Sedan De Ville parked. When Eddie pulls to the side of the road, a 1966 Chevrolet Impala is seen, parked.

After the cop is shot, Eddie pulls into the hospital parking lot, and he parks next to a 1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Holiday Coupe, and there is a scene in which McGarrett leaves, while the camera zooms onto his car, the true and tried 1968 Park Lane, and the vehicles seen include a 1961 Buick Skylark, a 1973 AMC Matador sedan, a Toyota Corolla, and a 1964 Dodge Dart. The final scene in which McGarrett pulls up to the side of the street had a 1970 Chevrolet Impala parked, in the background shot.

Episode 148: Steal Now, Pay Later

When the undercover FBI agent is killed in the beginning, Ron Colby's henchmen (Nephi Hanneman and Dennis Michael Chun) use a 1971 VW Bus. In another scene where Colby meets Puni, played by Hanneman, he drives a Porsche 914, lic # 5F-2794. The crime scene, which took place at a merchandise warehouse, had McGarrett pull up in a 1973 Mercury Marquis, which is the "picture car" first seen in Episode 125: Will the Real Mr.Winkler Please Die.

Later, when McGarrett and Danno pull into the parking lot of a shopping center, a 1966 Chevelle 4-door sedan is seen, along with a 1965 Buick Skylark, a 1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass hardtop, and a 1972 Pontiac LeMans, seen in the service bay, in need of a new tire. (There is a spoof that is noticed, in which McGarrett parks his Marquis in front of a 1966 Chevelle sedan, and when Uncle Charlie flees in a 1969 Lincoln Continental (last seen in Episode 53: The Guarnerius Caper), McGarrett hops into a similar Marquis parked two spaces next to the car that he arrived in, and took off in hot pursuit!) The chase scene had a couple of vehicles seen in traffic, which include a 1974 Malibu Classic and a 1970-73 Pontiac Firebird, and when the camera switches to an intersection with a stop sign, a 1966 Buick Skylark hardtop and a 1965 Chevrolet Impala are seen, along with two Pontiacs, a 1972 GTO and a Grand Prix. (The car that plunges into the water is a 1964 Lincoln Continental, and the scene where the Lincoln plunges into the water is later used in a CHiPs episode, in which Poncharello's Trans Am is stolen.) A 1960s Chevrolet pickup is seen at the harbor scene, where Uncle Charlie dunks his Lincoln in the water.

When the shipment of Transonic Cassette recorders arrives from Honolulu International Airport, a 1960/61 Chevrolet Apache 6-ton rig is used (in which Chin Ho is driving), and Danno tails in a 1963 Chevrolet 3/4 ton crew cab pickup. Later, at the warehouse, where McGarrett nails the gang, a 1971 Chevrolet Impala and a VW Beetle are seen.

Episode 149: Bomb, Bomb, Who's Got the Bomb?

A 1974 Mercedes-Benz 450SL is used by Dr. Phillip Leonard Henderson.

Episode 151: We Hang Our Own

An International pickup is seen, in which Jay Farraday's pulls the Bronco (used by the Farraday Ranch) into an airstrip. When the Five-O team arrives at the Farraday Ranch, a 1973 Chevelle Laguna sedan is used by the Hilo Police. The 1973 Ford LTD (a green one) seen in this episode was used earlier in Episode 146: A Hawaiian Nightmare.

Episode 152: The Two-Faced Corpse

There is a scene in which McGarrett (driving his 1968 Park Lane) pulls to Paul Hamilton's (Alan Fudge) office suite, and in the parking lot, a VW Beetle and a 1965 Dodge are seen. Later, in front of the Crystal's residence, a 1965 Chevy II 4-door is seen, and in the first scene in which Ben and Nick are conducting surveillance, in which Carla Crystal leaves the house in a 1974 Mustang II, a 1973 Nova is seen parked behind the Chevy II. Jack Houston (Sam Elliott) drives a early 70s Mercedes-Benz 450SL, and there is a scene in which Danno and Chin Ho are tailing, and when Houston hops into a Bernie's Cab, a 1970 Chevelle and a 1968 Chevy II are seen (in slow motion). When Carla Crystal pulls into a shopping center, an early 70s AMC Gremiln is seen. In a later scene, Houston is in his Mercedes-Benz, and when he looks in the rearview mirror, a 1974 Lincoln Continental Town Car and a 1971/72 Plymouth Satellite hardtop are seen. When Houston pulls into a gas station, the background shot had a 1955 Chevrolet station wagon parked across the street. The finale, in which the "entrapment" scheme occurs, had Houston going back into the Crystal's residence, and a Toyota Corolla is seen.

Note: Al Harrington's final appearance as Ben Kokua (probably the last episode that he was in before leaving).

Episode 153: How to Steal a Masterpiece

A Chevrolet Suburban is seen at Clarles Ogden's (Luther "Dominick Vashon" Adler) home, after the Gaugain painting is stolen. There is a scene in which Ogden leaves in a 1970 Cadillac limo, and in another scene, on Diamond Head Road, where Ogden hops into a 1967 Lincoln Continental limo, a 1963 Vette and a VW Beetle are seen, parked (off the road, where Episodes 78 and 116 was filmed). The scenes that are seen earlier when Ogden goes to the bank and picks up the ransom money is when a VW Type III, a 1972 Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser, a 1972 Pontiac LeMans, and an AMC Gremiln are seen, when they approach the Diamond Head Tennis Club, where Forbes (Gail Strickland) hops into a Bernie's Cab. McGarrett leaves his home, to go sailing, and a Mercedes-Benz 450SLC is seen (This episode is the first appearance of the 1974 Mercury Marquis, currently owned by John Boley Nordlum, Jack Lord's and Tom Selleck's stand in.). The finale in which Durkin is finally captured at a hotel had a Dodge Dart 4-door and a VW Beetle parked.

Note: Douglas Mossman, who was HPD Lt. Howard George Keahola in the first season, and had minor roles since, plays Frank Kemana in this episode.

Episode 154: A Gun for McGarrett

At S.N. Savage's home, the mobster's vehicles seen include a 1969 Cadillac limo, a 1974 Mercedes-Benz 450SEL, a 1974 Lincoln Continental Town Car, and a 1973 Marquis. There is a stock footage of McGarrett's 1968 Park Lane, and in a later scene, in which Frank Kemama is maintaining surveillance outside a handgun license office, a Toyota Corolla and a VW Bus are seen, and when Frank is on foot (where Marni Howard goes to a gun shop), a VW Bug and a 1966/67 Chevy II 4-door (making a left turn) are seen. Later, at Marni Howard's (Carol White) home, a VW Karmann Ghia and a 1974 Toyota Corolla are seen. Savage is finally captured, and one of the HPD vehicles seen is a 1971 Chevrolet Bel Air.

Episode 155: Welcome to Our Branch Office

A couple of Mercs are used, and there is a scene in which McGarrett gets out of a 1973 Marquis (a picture car), previously seen in Episode 148: Steal Now, Pay Later. The Marquis is used throughout this episode, in one shot with McGarrett and Chin Ho leaving the car, and by the bogus Five-O team. There is a scene in which McGarrett is in his 1968 Park Lane, and one camera shot was "reversed". Another scene had the bogus Ben and Danno in front of Traver's office, and in the parking lot, a 1972 Buick Skylark, a Dodge van, a 1968 Plymouth Satellite hardtop, and a 1969/70 Pontiac Grand Prix are seen.

The scene in front of Al Shatner's nightclub had a 1973 VW Bus (used by Tihati's Polynesian Revue), a 1971 Chevrolet Vega, a 1965 Buick Riviera, and a 1973 Audi Fox. Shatner's car is a 1974 Mercedes-Benz 450SL, which was seen in Episodes 149 and 152. In the finale, Bowman (Cameron Mitchell) drives a 1966 Cadillac ragtop, in which he pulls into a Chevron gas station. The vehicles seen in the shot include a 1971 Dodge Coronet station wagon and a Chevy II hardtop parked on the side of the street, and the vehicles seen in traffic include a 1959 Cadillac ragtop, a Datsun 510, and a Dodge pickup. When Bowman arrives at Honolulu International Airport, a 1969 Cadillac limosuine, an early 70s Chevrolet station wagon, and a 1972 Impala Custom hardtop are seen.

Episode 156: Presenting...in the Center Ring...Murder!

The motorcade, that escorts a visiting Red Chinese dignitary (Yankee Chang), had a 1971 Chevelle convertible driven by Duke. The limo that is used for escorting the Red Chinese dignitary is a 1969 Cadillac. HPD vehicles used include two 1973 Ford Custom 500s, and a couple of Harley-Davidsons. A schoolteacher (deputized under Wo Fat's orders) leaves Honolulu International Airport, a 1974 Chevrolet Sportvan is used as a school bus. When the schoolteacher leaves the van, a waiting limosuine, a 1974 Cadillac Fleetwood, with Wo Fat waiting. When the motorcade arrives at the HIC Arena, a 1969 Buick Skylark 2-door hardtop is seen, after the visiting Chinese dignitary and his grandson exit the limo.

Note: This episode had a different actor (Bill Edwards) as Jonathan Kaye.

Episode 158: Bones of Contention

There is a scene in which Professor Burke (Keene Curtis) is about to visit an informer on the remains of the Peking man at his hotel room, a couple of VW Beetles, a Chevrolet Vega, and a 1967 Chevelle 2-door hardtop are seen. Later, at the War Memorial Cemetery, when Parmel (Vic Tayback) shows up, a 1966 Chevrolet Impala is seen in the background. At the Aloha Tower, in which Burke meets Parmel, a VW Beetle is seen.

When McGarrett, Danno, Chin Ho, and Frank Kemana arrive at Pearl Harbor, a 1969 Chevelle 4-door hardtop sedan is seen leaving, and when McGarrett makes a left turn, a 1965 Chevrolet Impala fastback hardtop is seen, parked. McGarrett parks his Marquis next to a VW Beetle. A VW Bus is seen later, and the vehicles used by the USMC are a 1973 Plymouth Fury III and a 1973 AMC Matador. The jeep used in the escort is a Ford M151.

There is a shot in front of the Iolani Palace, and the vehicles parked in the scene include a 1964 Dodge, a 1969 Chevelle 2-door hardtop, a VW Beetle, and a 1955-57 Chevrolet Nomad station wagon. Stock shots are used in this episode, which includes McGarrett arriving at Burke's hotel (taken from Episode 62), and the motorcade that escorts Jonathan Kaye (Bill Edwards) is a stock shot from Episode 108, which had a 1969 Chevelle 4-door in the shot. When the remains of the Peking Man are found, a 1974 Datsun Z-car is seen.

Episode 159: Computer Killer

The parking lot of the courthouse had a 1969 Chevrolet pickup, a 1971/72 Chevelle, and an MGB ragtop, that Charles Aarons drives. A VW Bus is seen, when he uses the modem and cell phone in his car. The scene in which Harriet Brigham pulls into a parking lot of a high rise had a 1968 Pontiac Lemans hardtop seen in the parking lot. A later scene, in which McGarrett goes to Timothy J. Palmer's home, on 824 Maakapu Street, had a 1965 Chevelle parked on the side of the street, when McGarrett pulls up to the street corner in his Marquis. When Aarons parks Palmer's Ford Fairlane in a Honolulu International Aitport, a VW Bus is seen.

Episode 161: Small Witness, Large Crime

The scene where Moki (Joshua N. Farin) is hiding behind a tin shack had a couple of 1961 Chevrolets, and both of them are Impalas, which include a Bubbletop, and a 4-door hardtop sedan. This is where Moki snatches a bag of donuts and chocolate milk from the trunk of the Bubbletop Impala.

Another episode with a wrecking yard (like Episode 53), but this time, the cars are stacked. In this episode, the cars seen include a 1967 Chevrolet Impala, a 1963 Dodge, a Chevy II, and a Studebaker sedan, seen in the first shot, after the sniper looks around. Later, when HPD and Danno search the wrecking yard again, a VW Beetle, an Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser station wagon, a 1961 Cadillac, and a 1955 Chevrolet 8-door station wagon are seen, along with a Chevy II. The final scene in which Frances Chai (France Nuyen, this time, as a social worker in the Public Defender's office) is looking for Moki, a Checker station wagon, 1965 Cutlass, and a 1958 Chevrolet sedan are seen in the first sequence. The sniper is hiding behind a 1962 Cadillac, and he misses his shot, shattering a quarter glass from a VW Beetle. When the camera angles switch, a 1963/64 Cadillac Sedan De Ville is seen, and another camera shot had a stack of cars seen, which include a 1963 Impala, two Chevelle station wagons, and an MG, in which Moki throws a rock that distracts the sniper. When McGarrett fires his Smith and Wesson, he is next to a 1964 Chevelle station wagon.

Note: a stock shot (from Episode 15) of McGarrett pulling into the Iolani Palace in a 1968 Park Lane is seen, and the scene in which an HPD motorcycle officer is citing Ms. Chai's Mustang II (a "picture car", seen in Episode 152) used a Harley-Davidson.

Episode 164: And the Horse Jumped Over the Moon

The scene in which Traynor flags down Jay (a Mack Daddy Pimp/dope pusher), a 1971 Chevrolet Vega and MG are seen, when Traynor crosses Hotel Street. After Traynor is killed in a phone booth, there are stock shots of cop cars, and McGarrett, along with an ambulance. After Kevin Caulder (Bruce Boxleitner) hops out of a Cessna 172 flown by Bernie Ross (Ed Flanders, as a drug dealer since Episode 14), a WWII M38 Jeep is seen, owned by Laurie Benedict (Jo Ann Harris). Later, ad Dillingham Field, when Ross is loading his Cessna 172, a 1963 Chevrolet Crew Cab pickup is seen (the same one seen in Episode 148: Steal Now, Pay Later). Another scene in which Frank Kemana and Nick Noble are pulling out of a driveway, a 1968 Chevelle station wagon and a 1970 Chevrolet van are seen.

Episode 166: The Hostage

A 1974 Chevrolet Impala is used as an HPD unit, and the Oahu Civil Defense vehicle is a 1966 Chevrolet Commercial. There is a stock shot of McGarrett and Chin Ho inside the 1968 Park Lane, and a Cadillac Commercial is seen as an ambulance. When McGarrett interviews a kid being babysitted by Ruth (Linda Purl), a 1973 Chevrolet Monte Carlo is seen in the background shot.

Note: Bernard C.K. Ching (seen previously in Episode 100) is seen as an HPD police officer in this episode, and was the Fake Chin Ho in Episode 155.

Episode 167: Diary of a Gun

The warehouse scene, in which the gunrunners depart, had two mid-70s GM A-bodies, which include a 1973 Buick Century and a 1973 Monte Carlo. Later, when some kids mug a tourist, and is shot, a stock footage of an ambulance with an HPD Harley is seen. The scene in which Michael Briggs (Ramon Bieri) goes to the Palm Gardens Hotel, in which his wife is practicing adultery, had a VW Bus (a Kombi) parked. In the background, another VW Bus (a Bay Window Bus) is also seen. The crime scene, had a 1973 Dodge van (used by the HPD Mobile Crime Unit) and the background shot when McGarrett is seen speaking to Frank Kemana had the same orange VW Kombi seen, parked. There is a scene in which a kid finds the gun that Briggs throws away (Briggs drives a Ford Pinto), in which a VW Beetle and a 1958 Chevrolet sedan are seen in traffic, on Diamond Head Road. A stock footage of McGarrett and Duke (from Episode 120: Jury of One) was reused, but the dialogue dubbed.

The scene in the alley, after Eddie Larkin (Richard Morrison) is killed, had a Cadillac Commercial used as an ambulance. The scene in which Frito, a paroled felon, carjacks a businessman (who drives a 1974 Lincoln Mark IV), had a 1962 Cadillac parked, in which the Caddy was sideswiped. (a "pinstripe" was scuffed onto the Lincoln after the Caddy was sideswiped, and in later scenes, the right rear hubcap was on.

Episode 168: 6000 Deadly Tickets

The intersection in which a security guard and a travel agency employee are gunned down, a 1972 Plymouth Satellite is seen, and at the crime scene, a 1966 Chevy II is seen, and when the camera zooms on Simpson (Bill Edwards), a VW Bus is seen in the background shot. Later, at Aloha Cacatian's Travel, a VW Karmann Ghia is parked in front, and a 1972 Chevrolet Impala 4-door hardtop sedan is seen driving past by. After the Aloha Cacatian's Travel Agency is bombed, a Chevrolet Suburban is used as an ambulance.

Shige Yagamatu (Thomas Fujiwara) drives a Triumph Spitfire (TR6), and when he is tailed by Chin Ho and Nick Noble (Daniel Kamekona), a 1969 Dodge Coronet, a 1973 Vette, a 1972 Chevelle 4-door sedan, a 1965 Dodge, and a 1964 Dart are seen in traffic. The parking lot in which Shige parks his Triumph had a 1969 Dodge Charger parked in front, and the vehicles seen in the parking lot includes a 1972 VW Beetle Cabriolet. When the camera switches angles, in which Chin Ho and Nick are seen, a 1973 Chevrolet Monte Carlo and a VW Beetle are seen in the parking lot. Danno is undercover in this episode, and he is parked next to a VW Beetle. The chase scene, at the Ala Wai Canal, had a camera shot of Danno's 1974 Ford Custom 500, and the vehicles seen include a 1971 Chevelle station wagon, a VW Karmann Ghia, and a couple of VW Beetles. Later, when McGarrett circles around, and is in position to fire, a 1973 Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser (a taxicab) is seen.

Note: this episode, along with Episode 155, was filmed before Al Harrington was axed from Hawaii Five-O.
