July 13-15, 2001 - Prince Edward Island, Canada - "British Car
Days across the Bridge" combines one of the most spectacular vacation settings
in North America with the fastest growing British car event on the north
east coast. Organized
by the British Motoring Association of Prince Edward Island with support
from the Confederation Bridge, proceeds go to Cymbria Lions' charities.
Over a thousand spectators and two hundred vehicles have gathered for this

The Detroit Triumph Sportscar Club celebrates its 42nd year at the 19th
Annual Battle of the Brits, Michigan's largest display of classic British
automobiles and motorcycles. Located on the picnic grove lawn of beautiful
Freedom Hill Gounty Park, the event includes concours judging for all cars,
participants' choice show autojumble, and all-day classic tunes from the
50s and 60s spun by DJ Ken Chaplin. Place awards will be presented to the
top three vehicles in 33 concours classes, 12 participants' choice classes,
and special awards will be given to the "Presedent's Preference," "Chairman's
Choice," and "Best in Show." New this year is the "Preservation Class"
for cars that have placed "First in Class" three times since 1998 when
the current BOTB concours system was introduced. All cars required to register
in this class will receive awards. British car registration fee is
$15.00US before 9/1/01 and $20.00US after 9/1/01. There is a $7.00US per
car spectator fee non-participants. Due to the increasing popularity of
the event, early registration is recommended. Each car or vendor registration
includes a dash plaque and event T-shirt. Vendor fee is the same rate (but
in addition to) any British cars also registered.

is open to all British cars, however the event is geared towards MGs and
MG owners. Classes are in place for all MG models. In addition, there are

Parts vendors are present selling both new and used items. Food and drink
is available, including our world famous pit beef sandwiches. The

run, British car event on the east coast, second only to Bowie. Each year
we have participants attended from as far away as Georgia to New York.
Unlike many other car shows, this is a three day British Car Festival.
It is held in conjunction with the region's Annual Fall Foliage Festival
and there are numerous other activities in the immediate area to enjoy.
As always, we will run the free shuttle van on show day to and from the
Apple Days Arts and Crafts Show and Sale as well as to the Virginia Metal
Crafters brass works and show room for car show participants. As this is
our 20th year, we are planning a great weekend for all who attend. As always
we will begin the weekend with the free Friday night reception. Saturday
morning begins with a wonderful buffet breakfast followed by a caravan
to the park. No one should miss out on the Saturday evening awards banquet.
Last year folks who didn't participate in the show attended this event
simply because we all have such a wonderful time! Consider a trip to the
beautiful and historic Shenandoah Valley of Virginia in October 2001!
