Henk de Vries' Daimler Double Six Coupe
AND
Tineke de Lange's ALFA ROMEO GIULIA SUPER
The Giulia Page:
and now for something completely
different
It looks like a box
It drives like a cart
It hums and whistles
but
It has wood
It has chromed bits
and
It is fun!
Giulia was born in 1966, in Southern Italy. Member of
a bewilderingly named family with last names Super, 1600 Super, TI Super,
etc. she is considered somewhat desirable because of her great originality
and rustfreeness. The front, with double headlights, the 'divided' Alfa
Romeo logo on the grille, and the strip over the bonnet is very much the
1966 model. She brakes with unusual mechanical disk brakes (not easy to
get through MOT), the engine block is all aluminium with double overhanging
camshafts, twin Webers, 112 bhp.
Tineke says it reminds her of her old Citroen 2CV..
It is just as much fun to throw around..
On this page pixx of this FUN car, which, being so
simple and straightforward, also functions as a backup when the immensely
complex Brit needs tender loving workshop care :-)
