What is this Webring for?

A webring is a way to connect websites that share a common theme or interest together in one large internet ring so that people can easily find websites on a particular topic without having to search for hours on end through a search engine. Just by clicking on a next link or a previous link, a web surfer is taken to another site that is similar in topic. All the sites in this ring have something to do with Irish Martial Arts. By boosting traffic it's great publicity for your website and dojo(s). It's also free to join, of course.

So how can you apply to join?

First off, you MUST run a web page that has something to do with Irish Martial Arts. This ring is for sites on Irish Martial Arts. Each site, in some way, has something to do with Irish Martial Arts. Membership of the 'Irish Fighter' Webring is limited to applicants who are bona fide and reputable Martial Arts groups based in Ireland/Northern Ireland. The 'Irish Fighter' ring is being set up in the spirit of martial co-operation and friendliness and is without any commercial and/or political basis, all accepted members have equal status and shall agree to respect all other members as equals - this is a prerequisite for acceptance to membership. Please note: Membership of the 'Irish Fighter' webring does not imply endorsement of the policies/training systems etc of other ring members. If your page qualifies and you want to apply to join this growing webring, plase read fully and then follow these two steps:-

[1] YOU MUST DOWNLOAD and then UPLOAD the ring graphic to your site – see below. Please place the graphic on a visible or easy to find area of your site, preferably on the front page or on a separate page for webrings. The graphic URL is http://www.oocities.org/HotSprings/6550/ifringsolid.gif or http://www.oocities.org/HotSprings/6550/ifringtrans.gif ;If I can't find it,the links won't work and I can't add you to the ring. Furthermore, you MUST add the ring html coding along with the graphic. If you don't add the ring coding PROPERLY (with SITE-ID no- see below), the links won't work and I can't add your site to the ring.

[2] FILL OUT THE FOLLOWING FORM. You will prompted at the web ring server to fill out additional information. This form places you in a queue, which is like a waiting room. You'll receive an 'APPLICATION' e-mail message confirming your application for membership; this will contain your 'Ring I.D.'- this will be a number; you MUST place this number in the HTML fragment where indicated (and then insert this HTML fragment into the code for your site's front page.) I will then check out your web site and if your site meets the membership criteria and the graphic & coding are properly set up on your site, I'll add you to the ring. It's that simple. If you have any questions or problems in submitting your site to the ring, please contact me.

PLEASE NOTE- Due to Yahoo taking over WebRing in August 2000 it is now necessary to become a Yahoo member before you can join the Irish Fighter Webring. This is free and you get an e-mail address etc if you want
