Pat and Mike

1/2

A delightful movie about a superb jack of all trades female athlete named Pat (Hepburn), who turns tense and clumsy whenever her boyfriend (Ching) is around. She is discovered at a golf tournement by Mike, a sports manager and promoter, whom Tracy plays in the best Runyonesque Broadway style. He becomes her manager and he looks after preparing her for golf and tennis matches and keeping her boyfriend away from her. The stars are great as the two title characters. Aldo Ray is also good as a dopey but friendly boxer whom Tracy also manages. Not the duo's best but still enjoyable.

Stars: Spencer Tracy, Katharine Hepburn, Aldo Ray, William Ching, Sammy White, Jim Backus, and Charles Bronson
Director: George Cukor
Writers: Ruth Gordon and Garson Kanin
Genre: Comedy
