We believe that life is precious. It does not matter if you are 100 years old or 1 hour old, there should be no distinction...
Susanna, our first child, was diagnosed with full trisomy 18 - Edward's Syndrome - when I was in my 22nd week of pregnancy. We decided to give her the best chance we could and, against medical advice, continued with what was an otherwise uncomplicated, 'perfect' pregnancy.
On Friday October 18th 1996, Susanna Kate was born by Caesarean Section. She weighed 1990 grams (4lb 6oz). On day 5 we took her home.
We loved her with all our hearts. She was all our dreams rolled into one tiny package. Despite many and varied feeding problems, she was a very happy and contented baby who was a joy to care for and very easy to love.
Sadly, Susanna could not stay, God decided it was His job to care for her and on Sunday December 22nd 1996, she passed away suddenly, but peacefully in our arms at home.
She was 9 weeks and 2 days old.
We miss her very much. She is our inspiration.

Our family has been blessed with the safe arrival of two little sisters for Susanna.
Laura Kate was born by caesarean section on Wednesday March 31st, 1999
at 8.10 a.m. She weighed 3350 grams (7lb 6 1/2 oz).
Clare Anna was born by caesarean section on Wednesday June 6th, 2001
at 8.24 a.m. She weighed 3650 grams (8lb 1 oz).
