WHERE IN THE WORLD
ARE THE REGALAS

The Regalas of Lubao.  Our branch of the Regalas are originally from the town of Lubao, Pampanga.  From there they have spread their wings and have migrated to various parts of the country.  I have since then come into contact with Regalas from all over the Philippines and in some parts of the world.

The Regalas of Bacolor.  In the early sixties I began to meet the Regalas from Bacolor, Pampanga.  They were mostly found in the barrios of Talba and Tinajero.  Both of these barrios are now non-existent due to the erruption of Mt. Pinatubo and the succeeding lahar flows that buried these barrios along with most of the town of Bacolor. I understand that residents of these barrios are now resettled in the the Madapdap resettlement areas in Mabalacat, Pampanga.   I have since heard from Robert James Regala Keeler and Roderick Paulate Regala who are descendants of Mamerto Regala of Talba, Bacolor, Pampanga.  Ambassador Roberto Regala of Bacolor is a son of Mamerto Regala.  Robert and Roderick have provided me with a partial family tree of their branch of the Regalas and this is now accessible at The Regalas of Bacolor.  I have also heard from Dean Ric Santi of De la Salle University who told me that his wife, Marica, is a granddaughter of Mariano Regala who is from Bacolor, Pampanga.

The Regalas of Floridablanca. The first contact I received from a Regala from Floridablanca, Pampanga was from Michael Cueva (no3@iav.com). Michael was born in Floridablanca and his grandmother on his father's side is a Regala.  They live in Hawaii and his father joined the US navy in 1971 and has since retired.  I have also heard from Allan Regala and Rodney Regala.  Rodney and Allan are cousins. Allan told me that his father, Orlando Regala, recognized my grandfather's name and said that he was a frequent visitor of their grandfather, Leonardo Regala, in Floridablanca.   Allan is  gathering information about their branch of the family and I am looking forward to including information on the Regala Family Page.

The Regalas of Sasmuan.  The family of the late General Jose Regala hails from Sasmuan, Pampanga.  A partial family tree provided by Wilhelmina Regala (daughter of General Regala) can be accessed at The Regalas of Sasmuan, Pampanga.  Eric Regala from Vancouver, B.C., Canada is from a Regala family originally from Sasmuan, Pampanga.

The Regalas of Albay and Sorsogon.  About a year ago I met a member of the Regalas from Albay.  Her name is Edna Regala and we met at her wedding to a son of a good friend of mine here in Halifax, N.S.  Edna resides in New York but she has siblings living in London, England, Montreal, Canada, and Los Angeles, C.A.  Her brother, Manny, who lives in L.A., is married to a Kapampangan from Lubao.  Manny has learned to speak Kapampangan and he has been to Lubao and has met some of the Regalas there.  He told me that he believes that their family is originally from Lubao. I have also been in contact by e-mail with a Wilma Regala from Sorsogon.

The Regalas of Romblon.  I was on the phone on March 11, 1997 talking to Neo Regala from Vancouver, B.C., Canada, and he told me that his family is from Romblon, although he is aware that they are descendants of Regalas from Pampanga.

Because of this proliferation I have decided to compile a Directory of Regala's, especially those living outside the home country.  This directory is from information gathered through the various international telephone directories accessible through the Web.  If you are a Regala and you are not listed in this Directory please write to me at Armando A.B. Regala to have your name, address, and telephone number listed.
