My sister, Mary Jane, lost her courageous battle with cancer on March 23rd, 1998.
Her physical body is gone but her spirit will always live on in my heart.

Last month I received some very bad news. My dearest friend has cancer. Joan and I have been friends for over 25 years. In the middle of February Joan started getting bad headaches and went to the doctor, they found a lump and she was diagnosed with Ana Plastic Thyroid Cancer, A very rare, aggressive and fast moving cancer. Her outlook is very grim. She completed her radiation treatments last week and had her first Chemotherapy this week. She is very weak but I can still find my dear friend in her eyes. PLEASE remember our sister in Christ and lift her up to receive God's healing touch. I appreciate any effort you make on the part of my friend. We need a miracle and we need it fast. God's will, we will get one!!!

Joan Died on Tuesday, April 20, 1999. Below is a poem I wrote in her memory.
For My Forever Friend
Joan
December 14, 1939. . . . . April 29, 1999

We are permitted to grieve Joan,
because we have been privileged to love her.
To escape grief at the cost of never
having loved her is too dear a price to pay.

27 years ago God put you in my life.
I miss you so much Joan.
Every day without you a part of me is gone.
But the faith I have in God
will help me carry on.

I will always love you,
and we will never be apart,
because, when I close my eyes,
There you are, deep within my heart.

Your gentle spirit shining bright,
will guide me through this pain...
I'll never forget how you lived,
Yes, that will be my guide.
For you have been my quiding angel,
and always by my side.

You have spread your wings and now must fly,
My black haired guardian Angel in the sky.
Praise God, Your soul is finally free.
Your loving memory lives on
In the hearts of those you touched...
Thank God you choose the Day's
to be some of those lucky souls.
