 Hi. You have reached Cadette/Senior Group 272. We are part of Palm Glades Girl Scout Council located in Lake Worth, Florida. There are 14 girls & 3 adult leaders in our group. We have 2 Cadettes and 12 Seniors. We are very busy with community service projects, traveling, and badge work. Seven girls earned their Silver Awards. We have six trained Program Aides and two trained LIT. We went to the USS Yorktown in Charleston, South Carolina in March 1997 & we went to Washington, D.C. in June 8th of 1999. The winter of 1996, 1997, & 1998 we sent out Christmas cards to the US Military. We have been doing this for several years now and 1997, we were the top GS troop to send the most cards in the state and came in as number five for the US. We hope to continue to do this. Some of the girls have even received an answer from the men and women and have become permanent pen pals. This year, we are working on the communications interest project. In 1997, we worked on Suicide & Depression. Our troop crest has been a waterfall for the last three years and will most likely stay that way for the next few years. In our past meetings, we earned the Communications badge. Our service project for December was to fill 16 Christmas stockings for the Salvation Army. As of Jaunary 23rd to the beginning of February, we sold GS cookies. Check out our cookie page to find out what we think of them! In October of 1998, we sent close to 200 baseball caps to the Hats off for Cancer program. We participate annually in the children caring for children GS project which involves collecting baby items for needy children.
