    love down love
    Love down is love.

Korean society is more overtly stratified than western cultures.  The vertical structures we tend to over look are building blocks of oriental culture.  That said this saying stands true in both cultures.  We love Christ because he first loved us.  Parents can love their children more deeply than the children can love their parents.  Teachers can show a greater love and concern for their pupils than most pupils can show for thier mentors.  Love down should be deeper for the greater the responsiblity for another the greater the opportunity to love.  Service begets love.

    »ç¼ °í»ýÇÑ´Ù.
    buy because suffer do
    Buy and so suffer.

We unwisely make much of our own suffring.  A similar western proverb is "You made your bed and now you must lie in it."  The western version implies consequenses for a specific act.  The Korean version has this meaning and can also convey the idea as a general principle.
