This is a review of our favourite spots in and around Perth.

Beaches!!!!

Hillarys Beach

Is on West Coast Hwy, Hillarys. Entry just near Flinders Drive. Short concrete access paths (three). Dogs off lead on south side, on lead in horse area to the north. Plenty of parking (except on hot days). Change rooms, showers - for humans and dogs!. Poo bags and bins. Great spot!!!

Quinns Rocks Beach

Starts at the most northern point of Quinns Beach and extends for 1km north. Great off lead exercise beach, small car park and VERY steep access path let this one down a bit. Also on the down side NO DRINKING WATER, so bring your own. Poo bags and bins. Great for a good run.

Scarborough (Brighton)

Is on West Coast Hwy, Scarborough. Entry is about 1km south of Scarb. Beach Rd. Dogs off lead, BIG area, smaller dogs may find the surf a bit wild here at times. Has a very long access path (all sand, very hot mid-summer) but has a shower and tap near the beach end. Full change room and shower facilities in medium size car park. Poo bags and bins. Great fun!

Triggs Beach

Is on West Coast Hwy, Trigg. Entry is just north of Trigg Island between Kathleen and Bennion streets. Dogs off lead, small area bounded by limestone outcrops and steep sand bank. Has steep path and steps as access. Medium size car park (quite close to main road) with water tap. Poo bags and bins. Good sheltered spot.

North Beach

Is on West Coast Hwy, North Beach, near the Fisheries Dept Marine Research Labs. Entry is near Ada Street. Dogs off lead, lots of limestone cliffs and narrow beach, good for sniffing around - not much good for a run. And watch out for fishing lines (popular fishing spot). Good size car park. No water. Poo bags and bins. Do a bit of beachcombing here!

Other spots...

Lake Gnangara

Is just off Gnangara Rd, Landsdale. Entry is at Alexander Drive intersection. This is our quick visit spot (less than 5 mins in the car). The lake is very seasonal and water level varies but there is always plenty of space for a run. Suitable for a swim in Spring time. Toilets and water, no poo bags.

Joergenson Park, Kalamunda

Is on Mundaring Weir Rd, Kalamunda . Entry is about 500m from intersection of Railway Rd and Mundaring Weir Rd in Kalamunda. Dogs allowed off lead, it is a disused golf course and has plenty of paths and old fairways to meander down. Water available and toilets.
