BAKER, GEORGE AUGUSTUS, lawyer, author, was born in
1821, in New York City.  He was a successful lawyer of New
York and the author of Point Lace and Diamonds, a collection
of sparkling society verse; The Bad Habits of Good Society;
Mrs. Hephaestus and Other Short Stories; and West Point: a
Comedy. He died April 2, 1880, in New York City.
