I am searching for information on my grandfather Robert E Lee Bolin, born in Kentucky 1882 or 1887. He moved to Missouri and raised his family there by raising cotton. I don't know anything about his parents because they both died when he was very young.
Any informations would be greatly appreciated.

Been researching my baker line for the past 15 years. Finally finished an unpublished book of 774 PP. listing the descendants of Joshua Baker and Margery Knight emmigrants from Ireland to Philadelphia in 1712. Have traced these Bakers bace to Thomas b.
in Hertfordshire, England in 1559. My missing link is confirming theparents of Joshua Baker which I believe to be George Baker and his wife, Susanna. I've been searching your site in an attempt to prove William Baker to be the the 12th child of Joshua.
nable to locate birth record showing his parents for Wilmington, DE. in year of 1729. These Bakers were Quakers.

I would like to begin by telling you what an extraordinary homepage you have and I wish the best of luck to all of the researchers that are looking for their ancestors.
My question concerns a man named Jesse Baker. I do not know if he is one of my ancestors and I thought perhaps you could help me out. Jesse Baker was living in the household of Jacob & Serelda "Zerilda" Ann (Wilson) Kephart on the 1850 census for Johnson
ounty, Indiana. The census shows that he was born in 1774 in North Carolina. I believe that he may be related to me because my great grandfather Jesse Baker Kephart was named after him. I know he is not related to the Kephart line, and if he is related, i
would be on Serelda Ann Wilson's side. I know nothing about her except that she was born in 1831 in Gallatin County, Kentucky. Do you have any information on Wilsons and/or Bakers from Gallatin County, Kentucky in this time frame?

February 20, 1903. He was married to Lydia Amanda Teeter who was born in Dayton, Ohio on March 29, 1857 and died in Cheyenne on November 2, 1930. Their children were: Nell, Fances, Martha, Art, Ray and Susan Jane Bolin. Susan was my Great Grandmother
She was born July 18, 1885 at Silver Lake, Indiana and died in Cheyenne on March 14, 1967. She was married to Owen Harrison Bruner of Cheyenne, he was born here on April 21, 1873 and died here on November 11, 1963. I have either marriage Licenses, dea
h certificates or newspaper obits on all persons listed, also cemetery locations. I also have death ceritficates on other Bolins within the state of Wyoming which I have not placed yet. I would be happy to share what I have and would appreciate any assi

I am searching for the family of Ruellma(Ellen) Rowe (Roe, Row)B.1819 in Chilocothe, Ohio and her sister Mary Ann B. 1817 in Chilocothe, Ohio and Mary Elizabeth(?). They were married in Tippecanoe County Indiana and lived on the Wyandotte Reservation, Sh
ffield Township, Tippecanoe County, IN. Ruellama married Ingham Starkey(1820-1859) who was a Lawyer May 5, 1842. In 1860 she married Peter Barnhart.
Her sister Mary Ann married Lawrence Packer in Tippecanoe County, IN on 4-2-1837. Mary Elizabeth married Henry Fazel and had two children John and James. (Children listed in family bible)
Family tradition states that Mary Ann, Elizabeth and Ruelma were part indian. (Back of Ruellma's tintype picture states she was the granddaughter of Chief Joseph Brandt)
I cannot find Ruelma's parents or any family. Early records of Carroll County IN finds a Henry Rowe as a shoemaker and James Fazel as a grocery 1835 in the town of Lancaster(now gone). Any information of Rowe's in this area would be appreciated.

Washington Co., MD. About 1795 Matthia's sons moved west to Kentucky. The were Henry, Philip, George, Jacob and Michael. Of these I have informaiton putting Henry, Philip, George and Jacob in Kentucky where they died. Possibly Philip's son David lived
in Indiana and Married Ruth Brown. Any of this match your Smiser's

I am a descendant of Joseph Roe and Catherine Stiltz (Stultz?) married in Adams County, Indiana 4 Sept 1851. A Joseph Roe is listed in the LDS Ancestral File as the child of Joshua Roe & Lucretia Von Voltenburg. I have not yet made the connection to my R
e Family, however their children are listed as: Richard (1819), Joel (1821), Joseph (1823), Jonathan (Apr 1825/26), Michael (1827), Catherine (1829), Lucretia (1831), Charlotte (1833) & Susannah (1835). Definitely an FYI! My Joseph had a sister named Lu
retia, which isn't all THAT common of a name, so I feel there are definite possibilities.

I came across your homepage in connection with the Ballinger name, plus the fact that your Ballinger was also in Indiana, I have a Charles H. Ballinger born circa 1851-1853 in Indiana, possibly in Hamilton County, Ind. I have searched for the parents of C
arles for along time and I think I might have found them, not proven yet, they are, Robert born 1825 in Ind.& Martha born 1835 in Ind. According to the 1860 census for Hamilton County, Ind., they had 4 children, Charles H. born 1851, John born 1855, Sarah
M. born 1857, and Mary born 1860 all in Ind. Would you possibly have these people in your files? Clara at CLuster499@aol.com

Hugh Roe was born circa 1617 in England. He married for the second time in 1654/5 in Weymouth, MA, and he died on August 5, 1689 in Suffield, MA (now CT).
Hugh's second wife, Abigail, was born circa 1626, and also died in Suffield on September 3, 1689.
Hugh may have lived in Martha's Vinyard in 1658; was a sealer of leather in Hartford in 1663; appears to have been a freeman in Hartford in 1669. The family settled in Suffield, MA, which in 1749 became Suffield, CT, about 1671-2. Hugh was noted in the
irst town meeting on March 9, 1681. His land consisted of much of the SE portion of the present inner town of Suffield,
or 80 acres.
Suffield was founded by John Pynchon of Springfield, and was first called Stony Brook Plantation. It was burned by the indians in 1675. The settlers returned in 1676 at which time Hugh petitioned to be exempted from military
service on the grounds of infirmity.
Hugh opened a tavern, probably the first in Suffield, in 1681, and was a constable in
1684-5-8.
"I should have asked them when they were alive."

I am searching for my great-great-great grandfather James Bowlin. Through the research I have done already, I am thinking he is the son of Joshua Bowling of Green Co, VA (Joshua being the brother of Edmund). According to the records, Joshua had the follow
ng sons: William b. 1799 -m- Rachel Myers, Joshua b. 1804 -m- Martha "Patsy" Smith, Edmund b. before 1810 -m- Ellender Black, Benjamin Franklin b. 1810 -m- Nancy Jane Wilkerson, and James b. about 1812 -m- Ruth Walden. Most all of the brothers and their f
milies ended up in MO by way of KY, IL and AR. James is the only one who remains a mystery. That sort of coincides with the mysteriousness of my 3rd great grandfather James, birthdates are the same so I am assuming that there is a connection. Also, there
s substantial evidence that my line from MO, originated in Green and Sumner Co, TN which is where this family lived. If you have any information, please email me. I would love to know what info you have, I am at a loss. I do have some info on these other
brothers families as well so if anyone is related, I would be more that happy to share what I know. Thank you so much for your time. I love this site. It is a good way to share information with other Bowlin researchers. Keep up the excellent work.

Who knows who Susanna Bolding, 1771 will, Amelia Co. VA, was? My recollection is she only named a son BENJAMIN and a grandson, NOT necessarily Benjamin's son ??, named JAMES in the will so this Susanna is NOT widow of Alexander Bolling as many suspect -

Here is something you might enjoy. When we were visiting my son and his wife in San Francisco, we found a small baby quilt (Sun Bonnet Sue) at an antique shop across the street from their apartment. On the back was embroidered this:
"Terry Elaine Baker
Born January 4, 1950 in Pigeon Michigan
Your mother appliqued these blocks in 1931 and 1932
She was just a little girl honey, that is why this quilt should belong to you."
Isn't that neat. I have tried to find Terry Elaine Baker. I called that county in Michigan and they said they would research it, but have never heard back from them. My daughter-in-law had a little boy so she is using the quilt, but I still have hopes of
inding Terry Elaine Baker.

Leslie- Unfortunately the name BALDWIN needs to be added to Bowling spellings. I'll probably think of more later, but my Alexander Bowling 1818 deed in Madison Co AL was indexed BALDWIN for decades until that deed book was abstracted and found several sp
llings in deed. I had the Probate office index it under BOWLING in 1970's. Also while looking at husband's BALDWIN family in Montgomery co NC I found Baldwin-Bolin?(sp) confusion a couple of times, but sorted the real Baldwins out.
My McGee-Joyner book PROBABLY won't help Bowling much as it only goes back to my Alexander Bowling (1781-1843). He had brothe Wm b 1784 and we have been searching for siblings & parents for decades (me since 1956).
Seeing BOLTON spelling (another of my husband's lines) reminded me of BALDWIN - Helen Please remove typo "Helene" above. It's Helen

My Irish ancestors were Thomas Roe (1796?-1871) and his wife Sarah (Poole, I believe) 1801-1878. They were living in Coon townland, Dysart parish, Kilkenny (on the north shore of the River Dinin about 10 miles NE of Kilkenny City, 8 miles SE of Castlecom
r and near to the border of Carlow) when their son Richard Andrew, my great-grandfather, was born April 1, 1832. The family, Church of Ireland folk, migrated to Canada between that date and September 22, 1836 when their daughter Ann was born. I have a h
rd copy map of the area and an eloquent description of the area written in 1947.
There also was a British Army Officer, Walter Roe, who turned the keys of Fort Detroit over to the Americans in 1798 and then, in true Roe fashion, fell off his horse when in a drunken state and drowned in a ditch. His son William was also famous as the
erson who buried the treasury of Yorkville (now Toronto) when Americans threatened to invade Canada during the war of 1812. I have historical articles on them both although I don't think there is a direct connection to my family.

Hi:
My dead-end is Joseph H. Baker born (we think) November 28, 1856, and died January 08, 1914 according to his headstone in Dennison Cemetery, Idabel, OK. He was married to Mary E. Bradley - born March 16, 1844 and died April 19, 1915 and is buried in Hick
cemetery, AR. I know of only three of their many children they were supposed to have had, they were Lorena Baker who married a man by the name of Dillinger, W.M. Baker and Zula Baker, my Mother's Mother. We think they were all born in ARKANSAS. Zula B
ker was married to a Will H. Jean and then James Bradley Sims, Jr.

Hi;
I am researching my Baker lines which begin with Wesley G. Baker, b. 8 Feb 1808 somewhere near Clarksburg, WV. He lived in Meigs Co, Ohio until 1864 when he moved to Shelbyville, IL. He died there on 3 Jul 1890 as a result of falling from a horse.
He married Deborah Roller (our handed down information states she was a Wolf(e))in 1831 at Racine, Meigs Co, Oh. They had 10 children of whom David Madison is my link to this family.
I am also researching my wife (Shirley S. Baker=maiden name and now married name)Shirley's line of bakers who descend from Joseph A. Baker Sr., b. 1815 somewhere in VA, lived in Roane Co, TN until 1854 when he and his family moved to Stockton, Cedar Co, M
. He was killed there by bushwhackers during the civil war. He married Julis (?) prior to 1850 either in Alabama or TN. Their oldest son is listed int he 1850 census of Roane Co, Tn as being born in Al, all other references indicate he was born in TN.
Believe he was born in Cherokee Co, Al prior to Joseph and his wife Julia's movement to Roane Co, TN.
Would appreciate any help.

I really have NO idea about my ancestors. Both of my parents are deceased, and I am clueless as to where to begin so that I can have some answers for my daughter when she asks about her family tree. I believe that we may have some ties in Kansas, but as
far as I know, we've always been in Texas. I hope that someone somewhere will be able to help me. I believe that my Dad's side of the family is from Ireland, and my Mom's side is maybe Scot-Irish, but I'm not even sure of that. Her maiden name was Scru

Beautiful home page. Researching Bolin, Baker, and Asher. Bolin pretty much done, except for modern generation. Have four sources through Benjamin, father of James, father of Christopher.
Have conect with two cousins in Martinsville, also
researching Balaam Bolin. My connection is through Stephen Bolin's daughter Martha Ellen, who married Harden Asher. I have run into a stone wall on Harden. Found him in 1880 census, with mother, Catherine, Widow, and bros. Jacob and John. Also found a
obert Asher married to a Catherine who had a son Jacob, along with several other children, but no Harden was listed. She was the right age. My research of the Bolin contains voluminous pages of reaearch which I have condensed to about 20 pages, so far.
Who are the other researches you are working with ? lfellman@brainerd.net.
