BAKER, ALFRED, banker, was born Feb. 8, 1811, in
Warren County, Ga. In 1870 he organized and became
president of the National Exchange Bank of Augusta; and in
1875 he established the Augusta Savings bank, and became
its president. As a wholesale merchant, manufacturer, and
banker he has been one of the leading business men of his
section.
