In Honolulu we use the terms Mauka, Makai, Diamond Head, and Ewa to indicate North, South, East, and West, respectively. Mauka means "towards the mountains," and Makai means "towards the sea." Ewa Beach and Diamond Head are prominent landmarks on Oahu.
Thus, the sun rises on the Diamond Head side of the island. The Petz and Oddballz wake up early to enjoy the beautiful sunrise.
