The waiting room door opened and my father motioned for me to come outside. He didn't have to say a word, my fears were true it was cancer and they couldn't get it all or brain damage might occur. Then all I remember is crying and screaming and crying and screaming. Sister was able to talk to us after the surgery the whole day. She was more alert than she had been however, that was short lived. Early Friday morning she slipped into a coma. She had swelling on the brain. She was stable all day on Friday until late in the evening things changed for the worst. Sister was
rushed back into surgery after respriratory arrest. We were told by the surgeon that she was on life support, as well as I understand it, on a scale with 15 being alert and 3 being total brain dead she was a 4. The decision was made at about 11:00am to unhook the life support, Sister died at about 3:30pm that afternoon. I held her hand the whole time until the moment she died, because she had always been my big sister and held my hand in the beginning of my life so I was going to hold her hand at the end of her life. However, this is not the end; she is finally at home with Jesus and I must thank Him even in her death
for twenty-six years with the best sister anyone could have. |
