My name is Catherine Miller. I'm the daughter of Ruth Brooks and the late Luther Brooks, Sr. of Augusta, Arkansas. I'm a 1981 graduate of Augusta High. I'm enjoying traveling with my husband who's in the Air Force. I enjoyed living in England. I had plenty of time to see the local sights and to volunteer at the DODDS (Department of Defense Dependent School) school that my daughter attended. I volunteered in the school library and in my daughter's classroom. This gave me an opportunity to see first hand what she was learning and how it was being taught.

I'm excited to be living in Arizona now. I enjoy western movies and now I have the opportunity to see some places where some were filmed. I enjoy seeing the views in person that before I had only seen in the movies.

Something written by my husband

The following was written by my husband about me for a Ladies meeting at our Church around Valentines' Day many years ago.

A few years ago, I prayed a prayer that God would send my way, the wife that he wanted me to have. A couple of weeks later he did just that. And God never does anything halfway. I never thought there could be anyone so perfect for me. But God knows all, and he surely knew what he was doing when he chose a wife for me. He knew I needed someone who would consider my needs and desires, before making any decisions. Catherine is just that person. She never goes and makes decisions without first checking with her husband.

Catherine is not only very considerate of her husband, but also of others. I always receive comments like... "what a sweet wife you have!", after my friends are introduced to her. She's definately a WINNER, and I am so greatful to God for one of the best gifts he's ever given to me. I can't help but love her so much. She's the best friend I could ever ask for, and the best looking friend that I have. I wonder sometimes if she has to work at being such a fabulous wife, or if it just comes natural. This is a person that I admire very much, and could never finish talking about.

Unicorns

What can I say? I like unicorns, I can't remember when I first started collecting them. I know that I can always count on a new one at Christmas, because my daughter will always get me one. I have to always act like I don't know what she got me.

I have a musical unicorn that my husband got me. At the time we had been dating and got into an argument and broke up. You know I can't even remember what the argument had been about. At the time, I was working at the Woodruff County Hospital and it was Christmas and he had brought it to me and said, "here", and left. I opened the box and cried and played the musical unicorn the rest of my shift. When anyone came into the office they always asked "Aren't you tired of hearing that?" I always replied, "No." About two days later, I had my little brother Eric go with me to Sherman's house because he was friends with one of his brothers. That was the hardest thing that I had ever had to do, because he ignored me. But, we finally made up. And have been happily married for over 12 years. That unicorn is my most special one.

John Wayne

What can I say, I like John Wayne period.

Since we got stationed here in Arizona I've had the opportunity to visit "Old Tucson Studios" where John Wayne filmed four of his Movies. I'm trying to get my hands of those movies now. It's a place that all John Wayne fans want to vist.

A good one to watch is "Rooster Cogburn." Katherine Hepburn stars with him in the movie. She is another star that I like to watch in movies.

Spoons

Spoons are something that I like to Collect. Some people collect cups, keyrings, etc. I collect spoons.

From all the places that I viist, I pick up a spoon. It makes the spoon have a history behind them for me. Especially the ones that I got from overseas. Those will be ones that I could never replace.

I have two spoon racks full now. We are back in the states now. The states that we traveled through to get to Arizona I had my husband to stop so I could get a spoon

My favorite part of visiting the Tower of London was going through the Crown Jewels exhibit. I had to go through it twice because I enjoyed it so much. Look on our England Page and check out some of the pictures that Angela and I took while visiting there.

We have got good friends, cause when they travel, they always stop and pickup a spoon for me

Lawyer Books
by: John Grisham

This was a Grace Livingston Hill section , until I picked up a John Grisham book and read it from cover to cover. Once you start reading one of his books it is hard to put it down. I have read all of his books now. I think he needs to write another Believe me once you've read one of his books you will want to read more. I'll use this spot for books by him that I've read and let you know what they're about.

Television

Do you believe in Angels? I do. One of my favorite shows is "Touched by An Angel." This show is so good. It's about these three Angels that God has sent down to earth to help people and each week they're helping someone new.
