One of my 2nd G.Grandmothers was a Rowland, Here is what little information I have about her:

Her name was Emiline or Amanda or Arnatela Rowland. She was born in NY or RI c1813. She married John W. Craig b. 1803 ME, possibly married in NY or ME.

(That is the extent of my Rowland information. I do not have any idea as to what areas of NY, RI, or ME they may have been in.)

I descend from William Rawlings married 1st unknown... 2nd Barbara-?-; came from Loudoun Co., Va. to Fleming Co., Ky. after the REV. WAR. Supposed to have had a brother named Moses, and possibly another brother named Pressley. William is said to have came from England to Virginia--this has not been proven.

I descend from two of William RAWLINGS children: Thomas, the oldest and William Rawlings, Jr. My grandparents, Lewis McRoberts and Martha Abagail [RAWLINGS], were fourth cousins and second cousins. My grandfather descended from Thomas RAWLINGS and my grandmother from William RAWLINGS, JR.

[We think it might be Murphy, but have no proof.) ROWLAND, son of Rev. Seabern P. ROWLAND. We cannot got back any further than Seabern ROWLAND. I am descended from a Seth Rowland, born about 1747 in CT to John Rowland and Sarah LYON. Seth was in the Revolution and lived and died in Chatham (Columbia County), NY. Seth was married to Sarah Tallmadge. Looking for anyone else who might be from the same stock. I believe that Seth and John are descended from Henry Rowland of early Fairfield CT. but need more info!
