Something to Remember
Some time ago, a friend of mine told me he had punished his 3 year old daughter for wasting a roll of gold wrapping paper. Money was tight and he became angry when the child tried to decorate a box to put under the tree. Never the less, the little girl brought the gift to her father Christmas morning and said, "This is for you Daddy."
He was embarrassed by his earlier overreaction, but his anger flared again when he found the box was empty. He yelled at her, "Don't you know that when you give someone a present, there's supposed to be something inside it?" The little girl looked up at him with tears in her eyes and said, "Oh Daddy, it's not empty. I filled it with kisses just for you." He was crushed. He put his arms around his little girl and begged her forgiveness. My friend told me that he still has that gold wrapped box. Whenever he is discouraged, or depressed,, he will take out an imaginary kiss and remember the love of the child who had put it there.
You see, my friend lost his daughter the next year when a drunk driver hit her in a crosswalk. Now, memories are all he has. The love his daughter felt when she put those kisses in that box makes it the most precious possesion he has.
In a very real sense, each of us with children has been given a gold container filled with unconditional love. there is nothing more precious then the love of a child.
Love your kids and spend as much time with them as you can. Waste not a single moment. Because any moment may be your most precious memory. Or your last.

God created the rose in the likeness of a woman
The flower her beauty
The stem her strength
The petals her soft skin
The fragrance her pure sweetness
The leaves her arms outstretched, always loving and giving
Each time I see a woman, I see a flower from God.

Slugs. and mostly I dislike being without someone to love.
Life

Life isn't about keeping score, it's not about how many friends you have or how accepted you are. It's not about if you have plans for the weekend or if you're alone. It isn't about whom you're dating, whom you used to date, or how many different people you've dated. Or even if you've never been with anyone at all.
Life's not about the color of your hair, or if you're white or black. It's not about how smart you are or how smart everyone thinks you are.
It's not about who your family is or how much money they have, or the kind of car you drive. It's not about how good looking you are or ugly.
Or what clothes you wear, shoes you have on, or music you listen to.
Life's not about any of that. It just isn't!
Life is about whom you love and whom you hurt.
It's about whom you make happy or unhappy.
It's about keeping or betraying trust.
It's about friendship, used in sanctity or as a weapon.
It's about what you say, whether hurtful or heartening..
About starting or spreading rumors and petty gossip.
It's about what judgments you pass and why..
It's about whom you've ignored with full control and intention.
It's about jealousy, fear, ignorance, and revenge.
It's about carrying inner hate or love, letting it grow and spreading it.
But most of all, it's about using your life to touch other peoples hearts.
Only you choose how you affect other people.
Those choices are what Life is about!
