Ditzy, our loved stray
Meet Ditzy who lives outside year round. She was dropped off here 5 1/2 years ago on the day one of my granddaughters was born, just before the blizzard that brought out the first state of emergency I'd ever heard announced over the radio. Almost didn't pay attention after all those years of hearing "This is a test, only a test-----!"
Evidently she had been badly mistreated because she is so skittish. One minute she'll let you pet her and the next she'll turn and bite you. I'm even afraid to attempt to pick her up. There is no way she would ever come in the house. She won't even go into the garage. My husband has put boxes with blankets in places where we know she sleeps. She seems to be happy and healthy.
