We would drive over both of these bridges several times during our visits with our grandparents. The Westport bridge was near my  mother's parents.  We would go down to the bridge with our cousin's.. Both of the bridges are now closed to traffic.  We have many a happy memories of them.  In 1998 I was able to take my children to the Westport bridge.  We were parked just before the bridge and walked out on the bridge, we read the many sayings that were put up by adults and children many years ago.

I grew up in a military family, my father was in the United States Air Force and we have lived in several different states and in a couple of countries.  I have lived in Lybia, Tripoli, North Africia and have lived on a British Air Force Base in Germany.  I went to Kent School which was a British school before they built the International School in Brunsum, Holland, which I went there in my 8th grade year.

I met my husband in high school, he was a sophmore and I was a junior.  We were married in May just before he graduated. I was going to college then.  He also joined the Air Force and we spent the next 20 years going from state to state. We did live in a different country but we did make it to Alaska and was there for about 8 years..

My husband's father was also in the Air Force, and my husband has lived in the Philippeans and France.

All of my uncles were in the Air Force, some retired and some didn't.
Also Jim's uncles were in the Army.  He had some that were in the Korean war and some that were in Vietnam.

Both my father and  father-in-law were in the Vietnam War. My uncle Charles was in Vietnam twice.

We would go back to Indiana every three or four years to visit our aunts, uncles and cousin's, when we were growing up.   When I went back to Westport, I was surprised on how much it has grown and also Greensburg. I used to work at the A&W Rootbeer stand, at the time there were not very many businesses out that way. Now there is business everywhere.
