So You wanna know who i am???
O.K. here ya go...

My name is Mike Moore.   I am 33 years old.    Am married to a wonderful woman, Janel, and have 2 awesome kids Sarah and Jonah.   We were married on December 7, 1990 (pearl harbor day) and have a great marriage.
How We Got to be Husband and Wife
We were high school sweethearts, started dating when i was a Jr. and 16.    We both were involved in music in high school, which is where we got to know each other.    We were eventually set up by a mutual friend and so there we were.    We dated for 4 years.   Once we had came to college at Eastern Illinois University that spring I suddenly wasnt feeling as sure about the relationship (basically i had quit communicating) and 2 days after valentines day i broke up with Janel.
thru the next 3+ years i had lived next door to Janel alot and we got along as friends.    (he he but that is a whole another story for another day  LOL).    I met someone else and dumbly after 3 months thought she was the one......   so.......   we were engaged......  *dont yell at me yet*   I really thought i knew what i was doing.     Long story short.....we were together for 2 years and the fall of 1989 things really started going bad when i asked God to show me if this was the one for me cause i didnt want to break up with this person if she was the one but we really didnt get along as I thought we should be.       Needless to say.....i got what i had asked for and things seemed to get much worse.    All the while...... Janel had finally gotten over the situation and had given it over to God.     I wasnt a very good person to her during that time.     Over the christmas break of 1989, Janel and i had time to talk one on one for the first time since we had broken up (basically because i was stubborn and saw no need).      I told her that tracie and i had been having problems and that i was going to break up with her but just didnt know how to do it.      Well...it was done soon after the new year......i was a whimp and had been putting it off for about 2 months but didnt know how to go about it.       So thru our conversations,  Janel and I had talked about the fact that we might date again sometime but that it would have to be not for convienience but for figuring out if we really were meant to be together.     We started doing things in private (going out of town to eat out not to be seen by anyone because of how it would appear) and then, in the middle of feburary we decided to share the fact that we were dating again and things were serious........we had discussed the fact that if we dated again it would be for keeps so looks like the decision had been made.       We began goin thru premaritial counseling in september with our campus minister Roger Songer, and completed his counseling in november.    After we got done with the our counseling that night we went out to eat and got onto the topic of when we were going to get married and it wasnt till march.....   that sure was a long time away for a couple that had made mistakes in the past in dealing with sexual abstenance.      Anyways we decided that december might be a good time to get married and we were married 3 weeks later.     (And let me tell you ....... you can plan a good wedding in 3 weeks).     So there we are.....thats our story.

My Salvation

I was brought up in a home in which we attended church.      I got baptized when i was 8.      Not until i was in college did i realize that this christianity thing was a whole life thing which was based on a relationship with Jesus.      When i was 20 i made the decision to give my whole life to Jesus and live for Him.     I then chose to be baptized to make that profession to those around me as i didnt remember the earlier baptism and wasnt sure my heart was right when i got wet the first time.     Since then i have taken my relationship with Jesus serious and try to live for Him daily.

My Music
I love music and always have.  In High School i was involved in all music i could get into all the way thru.    In choir I was in Large Choir, mens choir, swing choir, madrical choir, and took many ensembles to contest and got 1st's on many of them.    I sang bass my freshman year, baritone my sophomore year, 2tenor my junior year, and of course 1st tenor my senior year.    Basically i sang what was needed and God has blessed me with a large vocal range.     As far as instrumental music goes that was what i really liked at the time.   I Played tuba as my primary instrument, but also played most of the other brass instruments.     I was in the Pep band, Jazz band, concert band, marching band, and also took alot of solo's and ensembles to contest there too also getting many 1st's.     When I got to lookin at colleges and what Iwas going to do with my life I auditioned for scholarships and ended up having about 7 different schools offering me scholarships.     Well i didnt end up doing music so i didnt take any of them.
Now I am still involved in music but now I am in a worship team at our church, I play bass occasionally and I sing alto/tenor alot.    I do play bass guitar in the worship team at the Hangout Teen center too.     I am a Praise and Worship Music nut and can't get enough of it.   Most recently in July '98 I was able to sing in the Promise Keepers Mens Choir in Indianapolis.    It was an awesome experience and hopefully not the last time I get to do that.     I also thank and Praise God for giving me the talents he has given me and thats why I use them for Him.
So thats me......if you have read all of this .....LOL I am impressed and you deserve some kind of award for perserverance........hehe
