Burchfield began life as Byrd's Methodist Episcopal Church, South sometime prior to 1886 not too many years after the reconstruction of the civil war.
That year John Bird gave the church a half acre of land to build a new sanctuary. It, however, burned to the ground after only a few years of use.
The present building was dedicated in 1904 as Burchfield Memorial after Jim and George Washington Burchfield who helped raise money for the reconstruction.
God has truly been good to us. Our churches have been blessed with generations of Christians who love the Lord, and we are fortunate to live and worship in such a beautiful area.
If you are in our area on Sunday morning, come worship with us. There is nothing like a small country church were the people are warm and friendly to make you feel welcome.
Sundays:
Sunday School 9:45
Morning Worship 11:00
Sunday Evening Worship 6:00 on the first Sunday every month (resuming in Sept.).
