Kate Bourg Cochennic, 88, a native of Larose and resident of Golden Meadow, died at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, 2001.

Visitation is 9 a.m. to funeral time today at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church in Golden Meadow. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, Joffery Cochennic Sr.; one son, Joffery Cochennic Jr.; two daughters, Dianna Cheramie and Elaine Simon of Lafayette; 13 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gabriel and Philomine Naquin Bourg; four brothers, Oliver Bourg, Elfedge Bourg, Xavier Bourg and Ivy Bourg; and three sisters, Marie Levron, Agathe Duet and Eulalie Galiano.

She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church, a member of Ladies of Lasalette and a charter member of Lasalette KC Auxiliary.

She enjoyed sewing and quilting and was a self-employed jeweler.
